I wonder if anyone has viewed the newest commercial for Wendy's featuring their product, natural cut french fries with sea salt. An interracial couple is shown twice during the commercial. A young black man is seen hand-feeding the new french fries to a young white woman. I guess that you could argue that they're friends but the idea of hand-feeding seems to lend a more intimate interpretation, IMO. Perhaps, it's a tacit acknowledgement that interracial relationships are more common nowadays.

It never seems like there are any good intentions, so my mind automatically goes to, what's the backward reasoning for featuring the IR couple? :smt102

Wendy's have some tasty food. And the new fries aren't bad at all. I still prefer McDonald's fries any day.

Hmmm...I watched that commercial but there's nothing apparent other than a young BM giving a ww some of his french fries. There many vague commericials like this already. There are also some that are very apparent such as the Lowe's commercial below...

They look so cute together! What do you say you actually help write a pilot on an interracial comedy family?

Here is another interracial couple in a commercial for IKEA Home Furnishings. It came out a couple of years ago. Again, this is not vague by any means.

That's a thought, but I believe you are better suited for that.:D I'm only good at poetry...not stories or plays and such.

The Mocha Killer strikes into the hearts of men and women everywhere! Feel the voodoo bliss of thy hands caressed the ever-so gentle bodies of yore!

Hmmm, I think with your poetry skills, and my writing prowess, I do have another idea based on a fictional universe. Very weird one too. Aside from the politically charged one I'm currently doing, this one will be more akin to a theme I called "Fated Hearts".

It's all well and nice, but it seems to me that some are willing to make a big deal out of nothing particularly interesting. There seems to be a "Breaking News" tendency among some posters to jump on anything that seems remotely close to representing black men and white women relationships. I know I'll get jumped on by some, but you all know I'm right whether or not you want to admit it. Guys, it ain't that serious. By acting the way you do, you're inadvertently conceding that interracial relationships are "unusual" and fetishist. If you just treat it like a regular relationship, then aren't we all good?

I have helped female friends, married and unmarried, with projects around their homes. But, I have never feed them food. So, in your neighborhood how often do random black men hand feed white women food in public? Admittedly, the Wendy's clip is only an excerpt, and the entire commercial is more expressive.

Alternately, it's recognizing, exactly as stated in the original post, that the media, and perhaps society, is growing more comfortable with IR relationships...
