That's horrible, DreamingBlue. Sadly, the scenario you describe is pretty common. On one hand, overt racism is more common in working class white communities like Buffalo, Boston, and the like. On the other, also because people tend to make generalizations about blacks (and people in general, but much more so with regard to blacks) across the full range of personality types, with no accounting for the individual.
