sadly the story had to hit the media before she got her job back

i personally think what she did shouldn't have warranted a termination, given the situation. How often do you have a famous athlete in your business, asking you if they can use your bathroom?

management can be twats in general, and from my own personal experience, fast-food managers are some of the most power-abusing, classless mothafuckas around

"He's a public figure... I know him better than some of the maintenance people that come in and out," she told The Consumerist. "I never thought in a million years that that decision was going to cost me my career."

Career?? Maybe he did her a favor and she will hopefully find a better job though, who knows some restaraunts pay very good salaries to the management.

Yeah, I never heard of anyone referring to their job in fast food as a career. When I read that, I laughed, but I thought it was also pretty sad.

That's her problem right there, and they had every right to fire her. She allowed in someone after the doors were locked. According to safety procedures you're not even supposed to let in other people that work there after close, let alone someone you don't know who might be a famous person or also might very well be a look alike.

Seriously, what she did was extremely stupid. Dude might've just looked like him, and then robbed the place. The reason fast food places got these rules is because of them getting robbed so much in the past.

I can't believe she was surprised to get fired, she signed an agreement that said she read and understood the security procedures, so, as I said, they had every right to fire her and she would've never got her job back had it not been someone famous.

Yup... I have to agree with you lady. Safety rules are in place for a reason. You may not agree with them at times or even understand them, but safety is a priority in virtual and real life. One of our convey commands once disregarded warnings put out by Marines in one of their checkpoints. It was simple... DO NOT TURN AROUND IN OUR CHECK POINT AND DO NOT ENGAGE ANY ENEMY IF THIS CHECK POINT IS ATTACKED WHILE YOU ARE HERE. Damn that was too easy. Instead my MILITARY POLICE convoy commands disregarded their words and turned around in their checkpoint to check on a civilian truck that was not moving. He could have easily ordered one of our gun trucks behind that civilian truck to move forward and check on it before leaving the Marine operated checkpoint.

That night we towed him back to our area. YES.. the Marines did fire at him and hit his radiator which disabled his truck..LOL Its not funny since they fired on US Military (they were relieved and replaced soon afterwards), but they did give the warning which was transmitted to all of us. I didnt like the LT who was trying to play NCO anyway so its still funny to me.

Yes a lot of wrong could have happened but it did not. The Marines were so accurate with their firing (about 100 meters) that only the radiator was hit. To this day I have no idea why those rules are in place with the Marines but Im positive it was for safety reasons for their guys in darkness.

So I agree, she never should have opened that door if that was their SOP (standard operating procedure or safety rules).

Yeah, she was definitely in the wrong & they had every right/reason to fire her. She's lucky that's all that happened. A smart employee is one that follows procedure thereby covering her ass so there's no reason to be let go. Rules are in place for a reason, & she obviously wasn't thinking, so I don't have much pity for her. At the very least, she could've picked up the phone & asked her boss for permission first.

LOL...it doesn't always indicate that, but sadly it usually does. It's like a sacker I know at the local grocery store who got the job at 16 & never left...he's 40 now & still making minimum wage bagging groceries & he still lives with his parents. High school is not the time to peak in life; if that's when it happens, it's a sad thing. :p
