Just off the top of my head here are a few.

The Nephew (1998) (drama) - this has a more international aspect to it. a mixed race guy (black father - irish mother) who has to leave the US to deal with his irish relatives (his disceased mother's family) who are apprehensive towards him.

Soul Man (1986) (comedy)(drama) - picked this one because of the way the WW & WM in this film relate to mark now that he is a black man.

White Chicks (2004) - i picked this one mainly because of Terry Crews role in it. Its funny.

I did not know about that flick. I learn something everyday. It is similar to the flick On Night Stand.

Yeah. As good as it was it didn't do very well and it got mixed reviews.

The odd thing is a friend of mine was dating a black woman and going thru very similar circumstances almost identitcal dialogue scenarios with the woman and the woman's mother. except the difference being there was no nice WW around to comfort him thru all the drama like in this film.

    http://www.reelzchannel.com/trailer-clips/38740/extra-clip

My friend asked me to get a bootleg copy of the film while it was in theaters still so that he could make this woman and the woman's mother look at it.

the odd thing is my friend even made this BW he was dating watch this movie and she still would not accept the the film is a mirror image of herself and her mother.

but the new tyler movie is bringing in the $$$$.

    of then ofcourse there is

    The Great White Hope 1967

but my main reason for making this thread is to deal with movies that show different sides to IR couples when dealing with the issues.

in the 1999 movie "the newphew" hill harper is a mixed race man who has to deal with his irish relatives who are apprehensive towards him. mainly the men disike him

in soul man 1986. Mark takes tanning pills and makes himself black so he can get a scholarship into havard. the interesting thign is a WW in the film wants to get with mark but its not very romantic at all. its an act of sexual rebellion against her father who hates and fears black man stereotypes.

in White Chicks 2004. terry crews is a rich athelte who wants WW just because they are white. the more blonde they are. the more he is turned out. there is even a line in the film where he says. "now that's what i want! A white girl with black girls ass!"

in jungle fever, diary of a tired black man and Not Easily Broken basically all 3 show BW being emotionally abusive to the BM so he is forced to rethink his life and he find some sort of happiness with a woman from another culture mainly a WW.

in The Great White Hope the same holds true. even though the film is in a sort of Shakespearean type of dialgue. basically a emotionally abusive BW drives James Earl Jones into the arms of a WW again.

i know there are lots of other documenaries and films i just can't think of any at the moment.

but the odd part is these films highlight a BM-WW and all of the racial tension that can exist around it and what the motivation is. but not every BM-WW situation as these films show is the same.

i hear the "these WW are stealing our men" speech all the time. i heard it today.

but again many the international ladies here that post threads have said things that really inspire me to look outside the USA.

i'm going back to business school soon. and i'm aiming at setting myself up intro a situation where i live overseas. i can't take all these angry BW and all the racial adversity one has to deal with when a BM goes out side of his race here in the USA.

alot of movies from overseas have shown me that the grass is greener on the other side.

with these films i find that its a "us agains the world" vibe to these films. and all of the racial tension that a IR couple has to fight against.

Oh then there is "Black & White" 1999

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6zje1_black-and-white-1999-theatrical-tra_shortfilms

This film deals with how middle class white teens are in love with hip hop culture and all thing that re black and street, but it mainly shows WW rebelling against their parents to the extreme.

then ther is spike Lee's He Got Game (1998)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GofVmD5lNAI

this film was about many things. but the IR BM-WW angle to it was fascinating. about how Black basketball players in college are litterally mobbed by WW.

Rick Fox the basketball player has a small role in it. and they have this conversation about how submissive WW are and how they are low-maintainance and will do their bidding.

    here is another.

this movie doesn't focus on racial tension at all. but the fact that cuba is playing a angry emotionally scarred man who is fighting for cause and she respects his cause and inspired by it and she tries to heal his emotional wounds. they become a couple for a short while but it ends badly.

cuba gooding jr & moira kelly in daybreak

I have never heard of this film. I like that you have highlighted films that have IR as its theme, rather than just a scene, however I am having a hard time even thinking of another ONE not listed. How disappointing. You'd think Hollywood would have evolved since their 1975 stereotypical Mandigo, and since created many complex, emotional wwbm relationship movies, but I see they haven't.
