Vonetta McGee







Vonetta McGee, an actress whose big-screen heyday during the blaxploitation era of the 1970s included leading roles in "Blacula" and "Shaft in Africa," has died. She was 65.


McGee died Friday at a hospital in Berkeley after experiencing cardiac arrest and being on life support for two days, said family spokeswoman Kelley Nayo. Although McGee had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 17, Nayo said, her death was not related to the disease.

She was Cleopatra Jones, but was shafted by the morons at Warner Brothers.

 

But...Tamara Dobson was so much devastating.

Warner Brothers did the right thing.

 

She was too tall to for the fight scenes. They got Tamara Dobson be menacing, I do understand that. She was to be intimidating.

 

How could you not fall in love with that? From the era when sistas represented. R.I.P.

That's who I thought that was, when I first looked at the pic, but I knew the other Cleo Jones had died a while back. She's pretty. RIP.

 

I loved her character in 'Repo Man' with Emilio Estevez. A great talent.
