I am biracial myself black dad white mom. I consider myself biracial and do not associate with being black. The OP says nothing about the white side of being biracial, instead assumes the child will only focus on his blackness because people may only consider him black. That is illogical imo. I used to think that way to, put black on my applications, essentially thought myself of only being black because I didn't have white skin. What I essentially was doing was denying my white half because of not looking white outwardly. I have refused to take the OPs viewpoint about denying whiteness and only promoting blackness and now label myself as mixed and mixed only, for years now. There are enough of us out there to be our own group and get away from the black and white mindset. I know I have.

That is fair, however you should pay close attention to what loki said earlier. People always want to define who they are based on their racial characteristics. But thats false logic; you are way more than statistics. How the world sees you shouldn’t define who or affect what you are as person, be it white or black, mixed it doesn’t fucking matter. When it all boils down and it all ends, the only person responsible for you is you; not the police, NOT BLACK PEOPLE, NOT WHITE PEOPLE, not the black church preachers or political leaders, NOT Obama,,,but YOU.
