A lot of truth in these statements ^.

At the end of the day:

"Do what makes you happy. Consider all things in doing so, especially when it affects your health. People will judge you, regardless of your circumstances and/or preferences."

    Amen to that.

As someone who isn't allowed to exercise anymore because it might kill me, I get really sick of having to defend myself to well-meaning folk who say 'But, if you just got back to running, you'd be so pretty.' Well, listen here, I wasn't much smaller than I am now when I was running half-marathons before they found my illness, so how about you do your thing and I'll do mine?? I do what I can to take care of myself, and I just have to put on a tough skin and ignore people who make comments.

I realize that carrying extra weight is not healthy, however, when my options are less healthy and overweight or dead, I'll take the less healthy and overweight. I just get so sick of people automatically ridiculing people who are overweight like they have no self control or something. Sure. Some of them don't. Sure, some of them could do way better to take care of themselves, but it's not everyone.

Um.... I'm confused. If you're attracted to these women, why does it matter what percentage of their body is fat???? If you like what you see, isn't that just a number?

these women are incredible, by the way!! My definition of amazing bodies :)

All true, but I don't know if anyone was actually arguing whether these larger girls are overweight or not / unhealthy or not - we were simply arguing the fact that some people are attracted to them and there's nothing wrong with that!

I also think it's a fairly thinly veiled excuse for people to go on about a person's weight just because "it's so unhealthy"... Well, maybe it is, but is it still any of your business? There are plenty of things that make a person unhealthy, being overweight just happens to be something you can see. The comment still comes from a place of judgement, even if your opinion is disguised in the "concern" for their health.

One could make a reasonable argument that the choices others make regarding their health does in fact have an impact on others as we all are on the hook for the cost of health care in this country of ours.

Could never chubby chase. A healthy lifestyle is very important to me and i would hope it would be for the girl I am with.
But if you did the Rosanne Barrs and the Kathy Bates...play on playa. I'll stick with the spinnas:smt047

Ok well, you'd better get on the hunt for all the skinny people who eat junk and don't exercise cos there's damn sure plenty of those, while you're at it go on a crusade about smokers and drug users and why not even throw in people in high stress jobs or who work in dangerous industries. Everyone contributes to the cost of health care as do we all benefit from it. It's still a weak excuse to judge someone, IMO.

I like what I see, but as a consequence it may be more unhealthy, to which I am an advocate of the progression to the healthiest life style you choose to lead relative to YOU. Which does include not just diet, nutrition & fitness, but many other aspects that were mentioned earlier (drug use, stress, emotional & physical abuse, etc). It's not veil for me to mask anything I really want say or not, it's a fact & consequence of what really enjoy. Just as I would enjoy smoking everyday all day, while eating fatty pork (I love love bacon), compacting it with marshmallow fluff, & washing it down with mountain dew...it is a just number, but so much more if I love you, want to spend the rest of my life with you, & get as much face time in with you as humanly possible, we both gotta do whatever we can...I'm rambling but that's my basic idea, it was just a thought that was provoked when someone while someone was hawking over my shoulder & commenting on this thread.

As long as a person I involved with or attracted to was doing all that could they given their relative situation, I would definitely have no qualms (obviously it only matters if your comfortable with yourself, but I'm talking about my attraction) If 8 were dating the gorgeous GD--you sure are puurrty little lady, I would be a lucky man.:tonqe::wink:

Whikle I believe you might have taken my post the wrong way, I have no interest in judging people based on their appearance, life is too short, besides people are going to do what they do, and like what they like and vice versa.

I was speaking directly to your earlier statement where you said it was nobody's business what individuals do. The point I was making is that nobody lives in a vacuum, individual decisions do in fact impact society as a whole. There are very good reasons why you see government and private (sports leagues, ect) entities spending money on commercials advocating healthy eating, exercise, and lifestyle habits, and yes they apply to everyone regardless of appearance.
