Actually quite a few women HAVE been saying that Essence has been an irrelevant publication for years. People were particularly upset that one recent article suggested that women go looking for men in strip clubs. This cover was by no means the only thing that was annoying to many women. Not by a long shot.

Racialicious and several other sites had some thoughtful and reasoned commentary on the cover and the mag in general.

And what is and isn't stupid is pretty subjective.

You know if they are staring in the street, they are damn sure lurking/trolling on this site and that's one of the reasons we probably haven't seen a link yet.

Some want to preserve the "Black Women don't really care" defense (Blood pressure monitors would indicate otherwise) and then counter that with the "Black men care as much, or would care if Black women started dating White Men".

You've seen that argument used in this thread and I don't know if it's true, if (BW outdated/married more) but certainly up to this point, BW have been more vocal than BM in their dislike of IR. The various Black forums and the comments from BET that were posted here are evidence, and I'm sure this link would show some more of that and further destroy the "We don't really care" defense.. She's also probably concerned that we might harass the forum or she might be seen as betraying some level of confidence.
