Flyingeek what a beautiful picture funny what position sometimes the animals end up, i do laugh with my cat often for the same reasons.

Good to see my cat running and be happy today......... she was sick glad the medicine the vet gave worked fast and in 3 days got well.

Soon i will take a pic of my cat planning one of this days to cut her hair she will left with almost nothing its already hot here seems we will have a very hot summer
also another reason is at the momment she lose a lot of hair i guess getting her summer coat :p but thats not good as my son is alergic so will cut her hair for this reason too.

As some of you know we had to put down one of our horses not long ago, here is the latest four legged addition to our family. He is an Irish Thoroughbred, 17 hands, retired from the racetrack. We are very excited and looking forward to re-training him to be a great trail and 4H horse.

It is a fly mask, it protects the eyes, jaw, and muzzle. Fly and mosquito protection is very important as biting insects are both a source of irritation and also may transmit disease. Flies like to go after the tear ducts in horses eyes and can cause all kinds of health problems. Flies are usually the most problematic in the summer, so the horses usually dont wear them in the winter. But here in Az it stays pretty warm year round so you have to be careful about flies and mosquitos, no pools of water can be left in the pasture, thats where they spawn, thus we have automatic water feeders for the horses that do not allow for any standing water. More than you wanted to know about equine care huh?

He's beautful, Loki. I hope that he has helped to ease some of the pain of your family's loss.

Loki beautiful pic and I was wondering too about the mask, thank you for explaining it.

Thanks for the kind words Bookster, GG, and Athena, my wife and kids (especially our daughter) are over the moon with our new addition. The kids decided to rename him "Merlin" (they just saw the King Arthur cartoon movie) as they did not like the name he raced under "Doozey". He still has A LOT of get up and go under saddle, but he is calming down with the help of my wife's steady training methods. He is very calm and mellow in the pasture which is good and is getting along with our other horses.
