Just cause i'm curious..who is Caribbean/West Indian on the boards?

    Well i heard frm my other african colleagues tht there is a lot of discrimination targeted towards ppl who werent born in the US

    I have a huge crush on a guy from Barbados...I could listen to him talk for hours

    Yeah. I went with a guy from Trinidad. His was my favorite accent ever.

    I was born there. There are about 5 or 6 different races down there.

    He's only talked about 2 specific races which obviously doesn't encompass it all lol. I want to go there next year and see as much as I can of the country.

    Mine too....

    Although he speaks "proper" American 99% of the time, I melt when he starts speaking to me in Guyanese with his deep voice.. swoon....

    Indians and blacks make up about 70% of the population. The other races are: Chinese, Amerindians, and whites ( mainly Portuguese). BTW, the folks don`t consider the Portuguese as whites probably because the other whites (English) treated them just as badly as the other races.

    Based on the news from the local newspapers-Stabroeknews.com, Kaieteurnews.com- I would suggest you be careful when go:smt018. If you do go may I suggest some place in the "interior". Beautiful scenes there like the Kaieteur Falls during the rainy season.:smt039
