I am a P90x evangelist. I swear, completion of the 90 day program will put you in a really good position to do damn near anything you want physically. On top of that, I'm staying active. Tennis every Mon and / or Wed, Basketball every Tuesday, Katha / Raja Yoga Thursday and Parkour training whenever I can. I actually took a blow to the knee in Basketball a few weeks ago and that's caused me to miss Tennis for a few weeks. I played Football Saturday and just aggravated that injury even further.

Lately, I've been doing a lot of upper body work, my normal routine is:

Start with LOTS and LOTS of stretching and 10 min light jog on treadmill w/ 15% incline.

    Chest:
    - Pushups (goal is 100 straight, last put in 81 before the arms went spaghetti)
    - Bench Press

    Shoulders & Back:
    - Pull Downs
    - Seated Row

The hardest part of fitness to me is dieting. Back in the day, I'd give up when my friends did... .now I just put my iPod on dead prez and have at it.

As far as diet goes, before I started.... I PIGGED OUT on everything in the fridge. I knew I was cutting a lot of stuff out of my diet so I wanted to enjoy it one last time. Now, I have no junk food in my house or high sugar / sodium foods. My grocery list looks a bit like:

    wild rice
    Special K
    2 gallons of skim milk
    4 gallons of water
unsalted almonds, pistachios and soy nuts
    quinoa
    precooked unflavored chicken and turkey
chicken, turkey and fish (no red meats)
    lots and lots of vegetables
    lots and lots of fruit
    turkey jerky
    egg whites

    My daily meal plan is:
    - For breakfast, I eat oatmeal with dried fruit and cinnamon or scrammbled egg whites w/ precooked chicken and low-fat cheese OR a meal replacement shake if I'm in a hurry.
    - Snack
    - Lunch is usually a salad or something along those lines. This is usually the hard part since I'm eating out
    - Snack
    - Snack
    - Dinner

The snacks are usually nuts, protein bars, low-fat string cheese or turkey jerky.

I'm not much of a 'food guy' anymore. I don't eat to appease the taste buds so much as I do just to provide the body what it needs to keep going.

Jaisee, you might want to check out uncooked black walnuts. Super high in omega3s.

I took a pic of my abs and would post it for the muscle part of it but I am wearing a short sports top and boy shorts and I don't want to be up here in that skimpy of an outfit. Sorry.

And I don't think you are a perv. My friends who work out like to see pics of progress. I think it gets others going to see progress.

    seriously..

im not trying to score free wank material..

    honest

    :D

I'm just fascinated at the way the body morphs itself...

magazines and websites also have similar areas, where people show before/after pics, to show how a change in diet or exercise affected them..

    very motivational

    Aight PettyOfficePimpJ,

    Here's my story,

Last year, my goal was to simply lose weight and add a wee bit of muscle back to my frame. If I remember correctly, I started seriously exercising some time in early May 2008. I have no gym membership and only a 30 pound set of dumbbells which I put to good use with curls and triceps lifts.

In addition, I did hundreds of push-ups per week. There's a playground with monkey bars in front of my mouse so I decided to add pull-ups, chin-ups and triceps dips to my arsenal. Eventually, my goals changed from how I looked to how I felt. I also directed my attention to mastering certain exercises. I considered an exercise mastered if I could easily do 3 sets of 15 repetitions with my own bodyweight.

The first picture (with the blue shirt) was taken on July 10, 2008. The second (shirtless) was taken on December 4, 2008. That's almost a span of 5 months. I didn't take any shirtless pictures in that same or similar pose so the only comparison that can be made is my arms which you can see have increased in size.

Nonetheless, my back, shoulders and chest did gain a bit of size as well.

I've drastically changed my diet and exercise routine this past week and lost around 1.5lbs, which is pretty good I guess. I'm at the biggest I've been (with the exception of being pregnant) at 132lbs, well now just over 130lbs. I'm hoping to get down to around 125 (I'd rather 120, but I'm being realistic) by the time I go to NY, in 6 weeks approx. I'm doing it the proper way though, before I've crash dieted and ended up feeling rubbish, so now I'm exercising enough, rotating what I do and I'm keeping my calories up and having smaller more frequent meals so that my metabolism doesn't give me the middle finger.

I threw out all my unhealthy stuff and I've stopped meeting friends for coffee during the week 'cause the fancy cakes they have are too tempting. To keep me motivated I've collected a bunch of celeb beach bikini pics (lol, sad) and I'm writing down exactly what I eat and what exercise I do each day. Each time I've been out for a run I just look at the fat people while I'm going past telling myself not to stop or I will look like them, it has worked so far.
