I like them too, so what's the problem with Oprah and black men? I think someone is giving her a bad rap. She does good things for people in general.

    Oprah does her thing...that's cool.

If BM want to see more done...we need to do it ourselves...there are plenty of wealthy BM that can help out young black males (ahem, Jay-Z, Puffy Combs, Robert Johnson etc.) I know those aren't the best examples..but Oprah doesn't have to do everything on her own.

However, she does seem to have a bit of antipathy towards black men...but I don't know if that's because of her own personal feelings or the fact that she has a particular audience she's trying to appeal to (white, 30 & 40-something housewives). She may be under the assumption that these women aren't interested in being bombarded with images of well-built, intelligent, handsome brothas.

You may be right...She's like a salesperson She's thriving on the ones that can make her the most. If it's the ww that she can appeal to, then why not? Ya think? Who knows...I'm just guessing.

I don't really believe that since she is such a philantropist. She's a lover of all peeps.

OPRAH HAS LAUNCHED MORE WM THAN NASA..!

Nobody is asking HER to do everything on her own...

WM sure as hell don't need her help..but ol' Oprah has made SEVERAL WM wealthy.

Oprah ain't worried that WW wouldn't accept the image of well-built,handsome Brothers..that's just bullshit.

They aren't on her show because she wants to build up WM...and convince WW(and the rest of her vast audience) that BM are the problem..and BW are their victims.

I don't have to ask her.

I can just watch all the white dudes she makes RICH overnight...as if she couldn't find a Brother to launch into another tax-bracket.

Imagine if Oprah was a BM and Dr Phil and all the rest were WW.

The sisterhood would close his ass down.

You are cracking me up flaming... I understand what you are saying...really. Did you read what I posted earlier. Here it is. She has a reason for being obstinate towards black men. She has nothing against you personally or black men. This was my response. Let me know what you think.

    ***********************

I've never thought about this, but very interesting points to think about. Do you think it has to do with her sexual abuse as a child? And, I've also heard from a local in Chicago that she has to pick Stedman up at the Gay clubs. So, hmmm...this may be her reason for distancing herself from black men.

Now, I'm not saying this is right, but people react to life based on their experiences. Don't beat me up, just wonderingf

    Well..

Oprah does go on and on about FORGIVENESS..

    Does she not???????????????????????????

So her alleged victimization by BM should be FORGIVEN.

There are PLENTY powerful WW in the media and in the business world that have have been molested and or raped by WM...BUT THEY DON'T HATE THEM...or BUILD UP BM TO SPITE THEM.

Oprah's been fucked over by WM before..I'm SURE of that..but she's forgiven the shit outta' them..and had to eat a LOT of it to get where she is now.

Oprah knows she can shit on us without any backlash whatsoever...because people think so little of BM they'd side with Hitler over a Brother.

Flaming, I'm not sure what to say to you. I love ya, but get over it, or take it over with Oprah. I can't help you with this, or maybe I can.

Oprah does not hate bm! Her biggest crush yet- and her support -is Barack Obama!! I have not seen her foam at the mouth and get so goo goo ga ga over any man since the beginning of her show!!!! She launched him right on into the white house! That's a pretty good career boost right there!:p

I was thinking about that exact same idea. I thought the idea may have been a bit far-fetched, but you beat me to it.

OFF TOPIC - Hey Flaming H. Your posts crack me up. Some are a bit exaggerated, but always tell the truth. My favorite would have to be the one in which you gave some of the names that ghetto BW give their sons. Classic. But it seems as if there are several BW that have a problem with Black Masulinity and try to feminize them as to gain control over them.

Let's face it, some aspects of Black America have become a matriarchy - no disrespect to single mothers out there God bless you. I know it's not the case, but it sometimes seems that they want to portray us as gangstas, closet fags or open fags. They overlook the brothas who have and are working on making something about ourselves. We gotta take control of our images. We gotta take control of how we want to be perceived as Black Men.

OKAY, I'm done for now, back to Oprah.

Oprah's shows are geared towards women for the most part. The vast majority of the shows I've seen featuring pedophiles and other criminal elements were white men. Montel Williams focused on white women for the most part as well, but the themes are universal where women are concerned. But for some reason black men seem reluctant to target other high profile wealthy black men for help. If you notice they are still skipping over this issue.
