I have such a deep love hate relationship with NY. If I want to own something nice in an area worth raising kids in I might have to start selling on the corner lol
As much as I love my hometown (NYC), I realized I had to leave to live in a decent neighborhood, have a decent car while not have a fortune. I livein the Washington, DC suburbs, and love my life here. Yes, I do miss NYC, but it's just 3.5 hours away.
It is, but I moved here back in '97, and my $$$ immediately went further. At the time my rent was $700 for a one BR apartment with amenities that you'd never get in NYC for that amount. I now live in Rockville, MD, and I'm in the IT field (Network Administrator). Yes, it's expensive, but I definitely have a better quality of like than when I lived in NYC. Much cleaner too.
$700... damn! When I was looking at studio apartments near campus, they were at least $1400 each. Funny how fast things changed, just back in 2007, 2008... a lot of people were terrified to walk on H street. Now it's one of the hip places to be.
I have dated women as much as 10 years older than me and it's been fun, and dated as young as 8 years younger, but now that I am getting older and wanting to settle down I'm definitely relaxing on the age gap stuff. I want a woman who is mature, but also one who is young enough to still want children and so I find myself aiming for women around 6-12 years younger than me.
Interesting thread. From my experience I started out attracting older when I was younger. In fact the first woman that had a crush on me in college was shocked to learn I just turned 18, she was I want to say 23-24. Now that I’m in my late 20’s I seem to attract women from 19-23. I don’t really have a preference as age imo isn’t a great indicator of maturity.
I've always found that much older men have been attracted to me. When I was much younger and not so aware of power dynamics in relationships I reciprocated but now for a much older man I'd need to know they weren't just into an age thing. I'd not say no or never to someone older but the interest from my side in a man for just "being older" is much less for me.
