Hodge is not in a position to dictate to producers what the Cross production team would do to bring this project to market, especially bringing it to Amazon, which had brand new digital content leadership and very little experience. There are so many spoons digging in that pot that there would be nothing on his spoon to taste. Actors come to projects with plenty of (actor-y/cultural/political) ideas and most, if not all, are placated in conversation and disregarded in practice. The best that happens is that the production and its acting talent are (insert your cause) “aligned.” Personally, I couldn’t stomach the show past the second episode. The self-serious, defund the police narrative was embarrassingly shallow with no moral center (or nuance) to the arguments presented - just more permissive, White liberal blah, blah, placating Black rage for a cheap buck If the show improved, let me know.
I stumbled onto these clips from a past season of the CBS sitcom "The Neighborhood": Context? I have no idea what TV show that clip is from.
AMC has put out trailers & a preview featurette for the upcoming season 2 of "Mayfield Witches" over the last couple months: Reading the replies it looks the scene is from the Apple TV+ Sports Dramedy series "Ted Lasso".
I watched the first half of S1 of the MW and opted out because the villain had no charisma or appeal. The brother, who had a significant role, seems marginalized with the new cast additions. Ben Feldman appears to be the new romantic lead/counterpoint to the villain, which - to my thinking - puts the brother on the outside looking in. I find these shows untrustworthy when it comes to BM.
Speaking of Lilly-Rose Depp, did y'all watch of all that HBO miniseries "The Idol" starring her & The Weekend? IMO the 1st episode was so horrible, I didn't care to bother with the rest of the miniseries. Was the rest of the miniseries worth watching? Recently finding out the "The Idol" ended up resulting in The Weeknd having 2 huge streaming hits from the soundtrack in "One of the Girls" & "Popular" (Both tracks each have over a billion streams on Spotify) is making me considering finishing the show.
I have to make a general recommendation for you my guy . . . give every show two full episodes of you can. The second episode of "The Idol" was very compelling . . . so much so I found myself singing "That's my family" while concentrating at my new job summer 2023 lol. The series also showcased model and aspiring horror actress Sophie Mudd in a minor role opposite the black vocalist that is also starring in "MaXXXine". I enjoyed the twists of the series that take place but I must say . . . I enjoyed the second episode the most.
Yeah it was so disappointing, more so because I'm pretty sure they did it for Ted and her to get together and then decided not to go that route anyway due to a rushed final season. Shame,
I hate to keep being the pessimistic guy, but this show obviously isn't about to work out well for the brother. The trailer is showing us all the stuff we complain about here. Dude's wife is clearly into the white guy next door. This is another one where I wouldn't be shocked for the black guy to be dead or in jail by the end. If he's lucky he'll just be alone. He sure isn't getting a happy ending lol.
This one didn't hurt me too bad, because it was always a huge stretch to have a player dating the owner. I never thought that one was meant to last. I don't think setting her up with Ted would have been much better.
Are we sure there's any wwbm stuff in this show? I just watched all 3 videos, and I don't see any trace of it. Did I miss it somehow? Was there a lot of it in season 1 that's sure to be back or something?
Yeah I got excited at first, Eleanor Tomlinson is one of my celeb crushes, she's literally in my signature banner and instantly it was a show that had all the issues that make me not get into pairings like this.
This is from 2011 and it a French Comedy Series Coeur Ocean in season 5 the character Juliette (Charlie Joirkin) gets involved with Raphaeal (Jean luc Joseph) Spoiler Unfortunately even in France the troupe of the black guy just being a placeholder is a thing. Her character was introduced in season 5 along with her beach volleyball partner Ben(who is secretly in love with her) as you might guess these feelings eventually come to light and she realized she felt the same way
Spoiler: somewhat spoiler Everyone is promiscuous and cheating on each other. Alfred Enoch's character Pete has a pretty steamy scene with Jessica De Gouw's character Becka and of course Evie and Pete have an affair. And also of course they made sure to make the Evie and Pete's love scene more graphic and steamy. But Evie is a crazy ass woman that pursues Danny. She winds up shooting Pete her husband in the end. So this could be classified as another Racist white hollywood producer's wet dream project. lol. These kind of shows/movies are atrocious to watch.
