Upcoming IR slate

Terrance Howard and Nicky Whelan will star in a movie called Crescent City which comes out August 16.

 

I just found out that Netflix put out an article last month giving us new details on this "Back in Action" film including the release date:

The article finally confirms Jamie Foxx & Cameron Diaz's 'ship in the film. They're a married suburban couple with kids. The film will finally drop on 1-17-2025. No trailer yet, as far as I know.

 

In the Sinners trailer, there's the briefest of glimpses of Hailiee Steinfeld dancing sensually with a black male, most likely MBJ but his face is obscured.

 

Yeah they are very coy about this film but there might be something going on. It is a vampire movie.

Sadie Sink and Kelvin Harris, Jr. are set to star as lovers.

Kelvin Harris, Jr is looking like he might be the studios chosen one for interracial content. Micheal B Jordan had better look over his shoulder lol .

MBJ Is Directing and Starring in a new Thomas Crown Affair movie that is in development. Those films are romantic heist films. So there's one moving forward for him. lol.

 

Kim Novak and Sammy Davis Jr. Forbidden Love Film

Colman Domingo is set to make his directorial debut with Scandalous, a fast developed drama from Miramax that explores the secret romance between film icon Kim Novak and entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. in 1957.

Sydney Sweeney has been cast as Novak, while David Jonsson will portray Davis Jr. The film is scheduled to begin production once Domingo and Sweeney finish filming Season 3 of the HBO series Euphoria.

Before he became Miramax CEO, Jon Glickman originated the project at Panoramic Media, and remained high on it. Novak, star of Vertigo, and Rat Pack member Davis were at the peak of star power when they met while guests on The Steve Allen Show. They fell hard for each other, but as rumors spread, the rampant racism in America threatened to derail their careers.

Novak experienced the ire of Harry Cohn, the Columbia Pictures chief who had the actress under contract. Their romance became big news when a Chicago gossip columnist in early 1958 wrote a detailed account of their relationship, including their plans to marry.

David Jonsson is on the come up based off his performance in that Alien movie and now his reward is Sydney Sweeney. Lucky bastard

This is a good story too if you ever read about it.

There is another Sammy/Novak story that was supposed to be coming out with another young black actor. I can't remember the name of it or the brotha.

 

Hey @darkcurry ~ whatever happened to that Richard Pryor movie starring Mike Epps and Kate Hudson?!? Did that ever come out!?!

 

The Richard Pryor biopic is currently languishing in development purgatory. Filming was supposed to start in 2014.

Thank you so very much @darkcurry . I had begun to think that pre-production photo was a misconception or a lark Damn . . that's so disappointing that the movie lost its momentum or experienced funding issues . . . 2014 I could never have guessed it was that long ago

 

@SilverSmith gave an update on that. It is one of those films that seems like won't ever get made. Unless someone else do their own version.

 

And Kim Novak is still with us.
