Butcher, MM & Frenchie are all ex-military but not special forces/black op level soldiers. Biggest tell of that this season is Butcher himself & the fact that muthafukker has no level of hand to hand training because he should have been able to serve both Homelander & Soldier Boy when squaring off against them. Neither Homelander or Soldier Boy have any hand to hand training themselves as they rely strictly on their enhanced strength when fighting, so Butcher should have had the upper hand if he were expert hand to hand trained. He's clearly not based on how he was fighting.

I didn't learn about "Tom Swift" until I saw the promo on Prime Video on the header. I watched the trailer provided and I was like . . . ok??? Then turned on the episode and . . . just as I suspected. Good that the CW wants to be uber-inclusive and all but as you asserted . . . why can we not have just ONE healthy, happy high school hetero Black male lead character on a fantasy/sci-fi show??!??

The CW continued a template and sadly . . . Netflix has carried it forward even further. Every fourth or fifth Netflix movie or series . . . the powers that be are trying to portray Black men as gay or asexual or otherwise lame and beta. It is nearly always the white guy who gets the girl and gets to lead the charge into danger to be the conquering hero right?

I found two great articles on "Stranger Things" from the New York Times and Slate.com on how poorly Lucas Sinclair is portrayed but am having some trouble relocating the NYT one: https://slate.com/culture/2022/06/stranger-things-4-netflix-most-interesting-character-lucas.html

I just don't think that Netflix wants this young, black talented and charismatic man to become the alpha teen heart throb that he should be by now at 20 years old. When was the last time you saw a Caleb McLaughlin commercial for any YA products online or TV?!? He should be omnipresent by now but just like the CW did to Tristan Wilds from 2009 to the end of "90210" . . . Netflix has deliberately debilitated him. He barely has any presence on other movies with other streaming services like Prime Video or Hulu nor other Netflix projects does he?!? I am just saying that his romance with Max has been sabotaged and it has hampered his success and market value as a leading young male actor on other projects.

There is a reason why you see The CW alumni Matt Lanter & Chace Crawford on Disney + and Prime Video via "The Mandalorian" and "The Boys" respectively . . . but Tristan Wilds?!?!? He got strategically sabotaged while on the CW network and today has effectively dissapeared. Did you ever wonder why he got no commercial offers 10 -12 years ago in the early 2010's as Caleb McLaughlin is getting none today huh?!?

I was not so surprised . . . but still not impressed (SMDH) The CW used to allow Dixon Wilson to beat up those types of white guys all the tiime but his love life was as lame and unproductive as it could be after season 1. Why do I get the feeling that the Duffer brothers want us all here to go outside into the rain and enjoy it?!? They have clearly made the decision to deliberately debilitate the development of Max & Lucas romantically and there is no doubt that as high school Sophmores in "Stranger Things" and "Stranger Things 2" that the adolescent expressions of affection between Nancy & Jonathan were far more bold, daring and realistic. If Max and Lucas thought in S4, E9 that they might die in that haunted house . . . then shouldn't they have a sense of authentic emotional urgency . . . shouldn't Max be kissing Lucas as if it were POTENTIALLY her last night in this world or something age-appropriate?!? So let's review . . . we waited over 17 mother father episodes for Max and Lucas to engage in a . . . teen IR handshake?!?

From the pilot to episode 15 over all . . . Nancy & Jonathan were Sophmores at Hawkins High (since they are still in high school in Spring 1986 of "Strangers Things 4") and were written so well that actors themselves began dating in real life and are still paramours five years later today . . . that was the indelible impression that the Duffer Brothers made on Natalie Dyer & Charlie Heaton after filming them as adolescents during the first two seasons. Sadie Sink and Caleb McLaughlin are both 20 years old today but the high school characters they play are adolescents too as were the S1 & S2 characters of Natalie and Charlie at the time . . . make it make sense?!?

@Jeffery Tripp was right . . . this is a faux relationship and Lucas does NOT have a legitimate love interest in Max. Whatever the Duffers decide to produce in 2024 will amount to mere crumbs for Max & Lucas (too little . . . too late ) as they probably decided to put her in a coma and make her brain dead so her character wouldn't do a realistic high school kissing scene with Lucas in "Stranger Things 4" . . . am I being too cynical or did anyone else have the same thought?!?

I don't blame Sadie Sink for her character Max Mayfield's lack of typical teenage emotional desire for her love interest that Nancy had developed over a much shorter time frame of episodes for her love Jonathan . . . I blame Levy, Owens and the Duffer Brothers for how timid, bland and uninspired the romantic development of Max & Lucas has been over two full seasons since the S2 finale. I have come inside from the rain because . . . it didn't smell like rain at all and I am not stupid.

If the speculation is correct it looks to be the sons of Feanor taking the Oath of Feanor. If you have read the Simarlion you know what this particular event is one of the most significant events in the history of middle earth. If you have not read it but are into LOTR the the history do yourself a favor and do some research on Feanor and the oath and the utter destruction that it lead to. You will never look at the Elves the same way again.

Survios, 20th Century Games Collaborate on New Aliens Game

Game developer and publisher Survios is collaborating with 20th Century Games to bring a new Aliens story to life. Set in the Aliens universe, the new game is a single-player, action-horror adventure for PC, consoles, and VR. More details about the game are forthcoming at the Alien: Expanding a Dark and Frightening Universe panel at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Though Aliens is a big name, this is far from the first time Survios has worked on big entertainment properties. Outside of their original titles, the studio has created games for Creed, The Walking Dead, and Westworld.

I started watching it late last night . . . not sure if I will continue after that opening sequence. The trailer looks great . . . but those first 15 minutes were not the way that I would have started off the series

I hope it gets better and am willing to give it a longer chance but I had to go to bed to rest up for work today. I'm going to have all weekend to check it out once I get back.

Was the trailer REALLY that misleading @Shulz021 ?!?

Snyder Cut Campaign Was Fueled by Bots, WB-Commissioned Study Finds

A study from WarnerMedia reportedly found that the bulk of support from the fan-led #ReleasetheSnyderCut social media campaign was fueled by bots.

Snyder's four-hour cut of Justice League was released on HBO Max in March 2021, after a viral fan-led campaign calling for Warner Bros. to #ReleasetheSnyderCut. The original 2017 Justice League was completed by Joss Whedon after Snyder left the project. As reported by Rolling Stone, two reports commissioned by WarnerMedia found that a disproportionate number of the social media accounts that participated in the campaign were fake or "inauthentic."

The WarnerMedia reports found that 13 percent of the accounts participating in the online campaign demanding the release of Snyder's Justice League were fake. According to experts, the reported normal amount of bots seen on trending topics ranges from three to five percent. Twitter's own public reports found that less than five percent of active accounts on the platform can be considered "false or spam." While this doesn't diminish the amount of real, human fans that bolstered the release of Snyder's Justice League, the campaign was disproportionately pushed by inauthentic accounts.

Multiple sources involved with both the 2017 Justice League and Snyder's version have also stated their belief that Snyder helped to manipulate the overwhelming online response, with one source claiming, "Zack was like a Lex Luthor wreaking havoc." Apparently, the reports were commissioned by Warner Media from a third-party cyber security firm in January 2021. The decision was reportedly in response to an increasing amount of disturbing social media posts directed at WarnerMedia employees, including Geoff Johns, DC Films president Walter Hamada and former Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich.

"After researching online conversations about the Snyder Cut of the Justice League‘s release, specifically the hashtags ‘ReleaseTheSnyderCut’ and ‘RestoreTheSnyderVerse’ on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, [the analysts] detected an increase in negative activity created by both real and fake authors," the report stated. "One identified community was made up of real and fake authors that spread negative content about WarnerMedia for not restoring the 'SnyderVerse.' Additionally, three main leaders were identified within the authors scanned on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram — one leader on each platform. These leaders received the highest amount of engagement and have many followers, which gives them the ability to influence public opinion."

Notably, it was reported in May that Twitter bots helped in two Snyder films, Army of the Dead and Zack Snyder's Justice League, winning the fan-voted categories of Oscars Fan Favorite and Oscars Cheer Moment at the 94th Academy Awards. According to reports from analytics tracking tool Tweetbinder, "the most active contributors to both polls were autonomous web programs," which "cast thousands of fake votes" for the two movies.

There is currently another call from fans to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, demanding Warner Bros. bring Syder back to helm the subsequent Justice League movies he had initially planned. Snyder has directed three DCEU films, including Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Spider-Man: No Way Home - The More Fun Stuff Version Dates

Sony Pictures took to social media to announce the official worldwide release dates for the re-release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is officially dubbed "The More Fun Stuff Version." While the United States will premiere the movie starting on September 1, the dates vary all over the world.

The More Fun Stuff Version will feature some new and extended scenes--because the two-hour, twenty-eight-minute runtime wasn't already enough. Sony and Marvel haven't yet detailed just how much they're adding back in.
