Wonder Man: Second-Tier Marvel Avenger Lands Disney+ Series

A Marvel Cinematic Universe series centered on Simon Williams/Wonder Man is coming to Disney+.

According to Variety, the upcoming Wonder Man show will be produced by Destin Daniel Cretton, who co-wrote and directed 2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Andrew Guest (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Hawkeye) will be an executive producer on the project and serve as head writer. That outlet reports Guest's representatives declined to comment on the news, while Marvel Studios does not generally comment on projects in development. No casting or release information was mentioned in Variety's coverage of the show.

Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Don Heck, Wonder Man first appeared in 1964's The Avengers #9. The character has been a member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and possesses a number of powers, including flight and a number of energy-based abilities. Much like Tony Stark/Iron Man, Wonder Man was the scion of a rich and powerful industrialist, Sanford Williams. Simon Williams fell on hard times due to competition from Stark Industries, resulting in him embezzling money. He was imprisoned for that crime and, eventually, Baron Zemo recruited Wonder Man to his Masters of Evil team, though the character soon made a turn to the more heroic side of the Marvel Universe. Additionally, Wonder Man's brain patterns eventually became the template for Vision, though that wasn't the case in the MCU.

Nathan Fillion, who is known for his work on such series as Firefly, appeared as Williams in deleted scenes from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In that movie, Williams would have appeared on some movie posters advertising him as playing Arkon. It is not known at this time if Fillion will play Wonder Man in the series, as deleted scenes are generally not considered canon. Fillion did voice Wonder Man in the M.O.D.O.K. animated TV series.

Starting with WandaVision in 2021, Marvel Studios began releasing streaming series set in the MCU and has since put out such shows as Loki, Moon Knight and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Currently, the streaming service is releasing new episodes of Ms. Marvel on Wednesdays. After the adventures of Kamala Khan conclude, Disney+ will put out She-Hulk: Attorney at Law starting on August 17. There are also plans for Secret Invasion, Ironheart and Armor Wars series.

It is not known at the time of writing when the Wonder Man-centered series will release on Disney+.

Four to Five was all that was needed imo. Some times when things go on too long the writing can get stale. This show has been GREAT! I hope they end it well. :)

I could be wrong but I think The Boys' Herogasm episode this friday is more hype than it actually being so off the wall wild(especially what I seen in the comics)! I mean the first episode was on some crazy shit! I don't know how you top that. But first of all the episode has the same rating as previous episodes. And secondly they did tone down some stuff from the comics which tells me the showrunner and writers don't want to get TOO wild and politically incorrect. Like I said that first episode was as crazy I think this season is going to get. Unless... never mind. lol.

My main man Lord Vader walking around a Comic Convention. This may sound weird but I kind of like seeing all the people of various body shapes still choosing to dress up as their favorite characters, no matter how they look.
