Game Of Thrones’ Jon Snow Spinoff Series As HBO is preparing to launch a Game of Thrones prequel series, the network also is exploring a potential sequel centered around one of the original series’ most recognizable characters, Kit Harington’s Jon Snow, Deadline confirmed. The project is still in the exploratory stages, sources said. If the series comes to fruition, it would chronicle the post-Westeros story of Jon Snow, aka Aegon Targaryen, with Harington expected to reprise his role. The project, first reported by THR, would mark the first spinoff from and the first sequel to the mega-hit fantasy drama, which ran on HBO for eight seasons. Over the past several years, HBO has been focused on prequels to Game of Thrones. One, House of the Dragon, is set to premiere this summer with several others, including Dunk and Egg, and The Sea Snake, in development. The shift in strategy also coincides with the recent WarnerMedia-Discovery merger, which brought in a new leadership over HBO and the rest of the WarnerMedia divisions.
It seems as if HBO is actually planning to do an aSoI&F Marvel Cinematic Universe under new management of Warner-Discovery . . . Disney is one tough act to follow in this regard. This new business model could fall flat on its face by comparision to how advanced Disney is with Marvel & Star Wars in producing spin-offs and prequels. Why not rather do a "Mandolorian" type aSoI&F series instead featuring the adventures of Ser Arthur Dayne and his life at court as Kingsguard plus his relationship with the royal family Targaryen as well as his family of House Dayne like Lady Ashara and the curious love/hate bond his family has with the royal family of Martell perhaps?!? I say if you are so determined to emulate the Disney business model . . . then do it right!! How could this sequel of Jon / Aegon work out if GRRM drops dead next year or the year after?!?
With House of the Dragons about a month and a half away more and more images have been coming out Looks like we are gonna a bit of The Old King Jaehaerys I Possibly the great council at Harrenhal? Prince Daemon in his Dragon Armor The Rouge Prince vs The Kingmaker And for theWWBM angle we have Lord Corlys Velaryon and his wife Princess Rhaenys Targaryen
I tweeted Steve Toussaint a congratulations . . . this will be a bold and daring journey for him. I still would have kept House Velaryon white as snow and made House Strong black as Summer Islanders relocated from Oldtowne to the Riverlands during the Age of Heroes
