Judging by Lucas's high top fade and his residence in Hawkins, IN which I know is fictional but nevertheless didn't seem to be anywhere near Gary, IN or the Chicago suburbs . . . the Duffer Brothers seemed seem to have time jumped more than 1986!! I'm trying to tell you . . . these kids could be juniors at Hawkins High by now in Fall 1987. I think the Covid-19 shut down has influenced the upscaling as the teen cast has clearly advanced overall so it is more plausible to portray them as High School upperclassmen than the lowly Frosh they would have been assigned to portray in Spring 1986 . . . but that was the world pre-Covid 19 from a TV production stand point.

I mean yeah a time jump to High School would just be smart....

So, I blew mouth off without doing my research. Turns out that the chick playing Barbara Gordon is actually a wheelchair user. She lost her leg in an accident a few years ago. So, I take back what I said because it’s very rare that Hollywood actually casts a wheelchair user as a wheelchair bound character. Especially, as a superhero.

So, yeah, my bad, sis. With that said, the show is still bad this season. All the inclusive casting in the world will change that.

Damn dude you had to do research on that? The woman is literally sitting in a wheelchair with one leg. Did you think that was special effects or fucked up camera angles or some cutting edge take they were trying to do with Barbara Gordon? Attention to details Bruv.....

No, I honestly didn’t notice she only had one leg until I watched the second episode, bruv. That’s when I thought I needed to look into this a bit more. So, I did and posted that I had made a bit of a mistake.

Let’s be clear, nothing I said about her being a plain, everyday looking girl, had anything to do with her being an amputee. I had zero idea that she is an amputee. The way she sits, I thought her legs were crossed like a lot of wheelchair bound women sit. As a matter of fact, I said to myself, “At least this actress did a bit of homework to see how an actual paralyzed woman would sit in her chair.”

I made a mistake. I owned up to it. But, let’s not act like Hollywood routinely casts disabled people for these roles.

Now, if we could get an actual wheelchair user to play Professor X, we’d be good.

Hollywood doesn't do a very good job of casting disabled or any other marginalized group of people in roles. Surprised sometimes they still cast actual women as women rather than have effeminate looking or straight up gay dudes dress up as women like they did way back when, especially if its not a romantic role involving another dude.

    Spawn Project Gets New Writer

The long-in-the-works Spawn movie is back in action.

Brian Tucker, who penned the 2013 Russell Crowe and Mark Wahlberg crime thriller Broken City, has been hired to write the script for the feature project.
Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions is behind the feature which has Todd McFarlane, the creator of the comic and character, attached as director.
Blum and McFarlane are producing. Carla Hacken is executive producing.

The project has been percolating since 2017 and, at one point, had Jamie Foxx attached to star as the titular character and Jeremy Renner as a detective nicknamed Twitch. However, because time has passed since their initial boarding, it is unclear if the actors are still involved. Insiders say they could be re-approached after a script is written. McFarlane wrote the initial script which attracted the actors.

Spawn is centered on a black-ops agent who is betrayed and murdered and his soul sent to hell for all the innocents he killed. While there, he makes a deal with a demon who allows him to return to the earthly plane and his wife. However, five years have now passed, and his wife has moved on, while he is a disfigured and superpowered spawn of hell.

The comic was adapted into a 1997 New Line horror-action movie that starred Michael Jai White, as well as a late-1990s HBO cartoon series.
Spawn, the comic, launched in 1992 with McFarlane one of the founders of Image Comics. The title has been published continuously since, making it the longest-running indie. McFarlane is currently trying to expand the Spawn universe on the publishing side and is weeks away from releasing the first issue of King Spawn. The comic has set records as over 497,000 copies have been ordered on the distributor level.

    Disney/Marvel’s Captain America 4 Film

Anthony Mackie has closed a deal to carry the shield and his first superhero picture in Captain America 4, sources said.

Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios keeps its details well under wraps and it isn’t clear whether the movie will involve Sebastian Stan, who starred with Mackie in the well-received Marvel Studios Disney+ limited series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The unofficial title indicates this is Mackie’s vehicle, and it’s an exceptional career moment for the Juilliard-educated actor who has been a bright spot in every film he’s appeared in. That includes the Best Picture winner The Hurt Locker, 8 Mile, and The Banker, to his turns as Falcon, the wingman of Captain America, who was handpicked by that superhero to succeed him. The series involved his conflict in taking on the superhero persona. Mackie played Falcon in five Marvel films beginning with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Just finished watching What If? episode 2 on Disney+. It was a really fun episode exploring what would have happened if T'Challa had been taken by Yondu instead of Peter Quill.

It's interesting to see how the MCU would have gone if this one change had happened.
Good guy Thanos, Ravagers are space Robin Hoods, Nebula is a blonde bombshell and there is a hint of a thing between her and T'Challa [IMG]

All Captain America movies have basically been pseudo-Avengers movies. So I'm betting Cap 4 will be a backdoor intro to either Young Avengers (bringing back Eli Bradley) or the introduction to the post- Endgame squad.

This is great move for Mackie (even though I’ve never really thought he was a good fit for the role). But, what this does is give Marvel cover to give the title of Black Panther to Zhuri.

I don't really think those decisions are connected lol.
They were going to do that with SHuri regardless. Sam was going to be Cap regardless.

I'm curious if Sam Wilson will be the MCU's permanent Captain America considering his stint as Cap in the comics ended with Marvel's All-New, All-Different rebranding initiative, which spanned less than 5 years.

Damn! I never thought of that. I'm still holding out hope that T'Challa is back-burnered for BP2 but Marvel comes to their senses and recasts him going forward.
