I'm listening to this guy's response to the Grace Randolph clip. I think he misunderstood what she was saying. I don't believe GR was attempting to shut down the overall discussion on whether T'Challa should be recast. I watched the GR video that set him off. It sounded to me like she was trying to redirect her own comment section for that particular upload only (from her regular fans, I mean) to get a specific question answered in a specific video. She specifically wanted to hear opinions on handling T'Challa's death, as opposed to whether he should die at all. I don't think she has any problem with the larger conversation. At all. GR speaks OFTEN about black representation in film. Also, I think bro was WAY off with the Wonder Woman r*pe comparison. This T'Challa thing came about specifically because of a tragic death. T'Challa's death wouldn't be a question if Chadwick Boseman hadn't tragically died. This isn't a simple chance to "kill another black man." However, one point he made that I completely agree with was that--regardless of how Disney/Marvel got here--they need to handle the killing of a uniquely popular black character the right way. Amen to that all day. But I think his rant was sparked by a misunderstanding. Maybe I'm wrong though. Just my 2 cents. Full disclosure: I watch GR's content sometimes and disagree with her regularly. I also think it's a huge mistake to kill off T'Challa.
I know you watch Grace Randolph, otherwise you never would have offered up one of her videos in regards to Jupiter's Legacy's cancellation. My two cents: There was no misunderstanding on Mr. Noisette's part as to what Grace Randolph said. Her whole attitude came off as dismissive of the idea of T'Challa being recast in any way. And "yes" her video was aimed at her audience, which is why her comments about recast is not an option stood out. She dismissed recasting as an option as if T'Challa's death in the MCU is already a done deal not once but TWICE. She's a Youtube critic putting shit out for views not someone who works for Marvel/Disney. And if she were someone who works for Marvel/Disney, why put that particular nugget of info out there?
I forgot I posted that video LOL. You're right, she treats it as a done deal. But I think that's because she believes it IS a done deal within Marvel/Disney (based on her sources). I don't know, dude. I guess we just don't see eye to eye on this one. But at least we both love T'Challa (and white women lol)
It's all good. I just posted the video to show that I'm not the only person who has seen one or more of her videos where she comes across a little suspect. Doesn't matter if she may talk about & promote positive black representation in nerd culture/films normally on her channel, this particular instance didn't come off as one of them IMO.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Is The Next Chapter in Franchise Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be the title of the seventh installment, according to Paramount, who announced it during a virtual press event on Tuesday to commemorate the start of production. That name will be familiar to fans of the 1990s cartoon, which centered on a group of robots who took animal form. Filmmaker Steven Caple Jr. was among the generation who grew up loving Beast Wars. “There are different breeds of Transformers,” said Caple. “In our particular film, they are prehistoric animals who travel through time and space, and we find them here on Earth.” The film will partially set in Brooklyn, New York, and will also go to Peru, among other locations. To be clear, she definitely sounds suspect here and there. I just don't see it in this instance. See, we agree more than we thought we did lol
Gotta say, I’m not enjoying Loki as much as I thought I would. So far, it’s my least favorite of the three Disney Marvel shows we’ve seen, so far.
I can understand that however, I feel it will set up the next round of shows and movies better than the other shows did.
Was that the Abomination in the cage fighting scene?? Is the white dragon the MCU version of Fin Fang Foom?
Wow! This is my favorite car chase scene of all time. But, I had no idea this shit was all practical effects. I though it was CGI! But, it was real!
