In today's social climate, black men do you feel safe?

Shit is getting spooky man! Too many racists have gotten all too comfortable with being openly racist and taking pride in being hateful.

I feel a little uneasy. I constantly work in little rural areas which are 99.2% white and they are Trump die hards.

I have had a concealed carry license for a while now but I don't carry anymore. I find it uncomfortable so I just have weapons in my ride and at home.

Sometimes I worry that while I'm out for run with my headphones playing full blast that one of these deranged lunatics are going turn they vehicle into a weapon, mowing me down.

As a black man do I feel safe in today's social climate? That's a decent question.

I sometimes think about when I see the police. Even if I'm minding my own business and not doing anything wrong, do I feel safe or sorry?

I actually feel safer with a White Woman to be even more frank because if something unforseen goes down then someone's going to need to talk to the police and that's where a pretty and friendly face would come in handy to vouch for me. Lol

But, may I please just say one thing: no one should be running, jogging, whatever, outside with headphones on full blast. You can't hear cars coming, you can't hear someone sneaking up on you. Men have less chance of something happening to them, but it can still happen.

Everyone should be hyper vigilante at all times when vulnerable like that.

I feel safe but I have something like a spidey sense. I have the instincts my dad and my mother's intuition.

I go by them first. As long as I detach from emotion they won't fail.

 

With instinct you either have it or you don't. You are born with a set amount.

With intuition you either have it or you don't, but if you have it you can nurture and expand it.

I swear to god driving through some rural areas it feels like u turned the clock back almost a century.

Tint your windows, fill up the gas tank, check the oil, double check ur tires and brakes and dont fucking stop till u get to the other side lol.

Those rural areas dont feel save at all as a Black Man. U might be safer at night perversely but only cause its harder for anyone to see into ur car if its not tinted. Easy to get an accident though thanks to bad roads, wildlife or farm animals lol

 

Pigs love to pull over tinted windows, though. Especially the State Troopers.

 

I tend to be least worried about State Troopers.

 

Feel perfectly safe. Even have police officer friends.

I feel safe to a certain extent in my area. One because I lived here a long time and I'am known around my neighborhood and at my job. And two I say to a certain extent because don't matter the race, sex, badge or not fools exist everywhere! There is no escaping them unless you become really rich and live somewhere off the grid like Jesse Ventura.

I'd feel safe with a White Woman regardless of whether we're in rural America or in the hood. When we're together no one else should even matter wherever we are.

If someone has a problem with the two of us together then that's their own insecurities they need to deal with.
