Nah, he had really emo type stuff. His audience connected with him because he talked about mental health, depression, had elements of rock in his music and other stuff.
These are the 2 biggest songs on each of his first (& only) 2 studio albums that he put out in the last year: Does this sound like gangster rap to you? All I think is Suburban Emo Rap. You can tell he was influenced by artists like Kanye West, The Weeknd, Drake, Kid Cudi, & etc. Him being influenced by stereotypical gangster or hood rappers never crosses my mind listening to his music.
okay - I'll take your word for it. maybe I'm wrong in that example. Still, I'll bet that the "gangster rap" ethic had a lot to do with the guy who killed him -- for "gangsta" fame and status...
How is China going to cope with the fact that there are plenty of artists in mainland China doing rap? Ironic enough they are doing a rap dissing foreigners for making money and getting with all of their girls. Oh and mentioning these guys are often losers in their own countries but that in China they are not. Plenty of Chinese use VPNS regularly to look at foreign/western content/use porn and facebook. What has me more scared/concerned is the amount of American companies that do censorship to appeal to China. Such as shrinking John Bogoya's character. A number of productions and scripts are also focused on "How do we get past chinese censors?" It is also a noticeable reason for many scripts being completely dumbed and watered down in a number of big Hollywood productions. https://variety.com/2015/film/news/star-wars-china-poster-controversy-john-boyega-1201653494/ https://mashable.com/article/china-censorship-companies-hong-kong-protests-nba/
they did this with star wars where they made finn less prominent in the posters. They're not even sly about it and will be the first to cry racist if anyone says anything about covid. I don't even understand what did black people ever do to china??
Blacks never had the mind or business sense to create their own media. We’ve always had to ask Pinkasaurus Rex and his gatekeepers for permission. Thankfully, we’re in the digital age where Black MALE media is growing. It’ll still take years to make an impact, but we (Black men) are in the position to correct the BS propagated by the media.
People will always be people. I won’t blame entertainment or entertainers for being a bad influence because that’s the parents job. HOWEVER black men have to be responsible for their own image. We can’t rely on outsiders to build us up. I’m not what you call a Kevin Samuels fanboy, but he does make legit points about IMAGE.
