That audio recording sounds like a gangster trying to strongarm someone into doing what he wants. Make no mistake, that was a pure unadulterated attempt on Trump's part to engage in a criminal enterprise (conspiracy, election fraud) But, it doesn't matter because the GOP are sycophants who are more beholden to Trump's cultists than they are to the constitution (even if Trump throws members of his own party under the bus), and the Dems are spineless wimps who will clutch their pearls but not actually do anything as usual.

But Trump does, which is what makes him such an effective con man. He might be a serial sexual predator who's pathologically dishonest with no morality to speak of whatsoever, but he definitely knows how to milk conservative white resentment and identity politics for what it's worth.
