Yes, this happen once every four years. I think if they can come up with replacement for Cobra which was ridiculously expensive for those who suddenly became unemployed, perhaps a subsidy to help offset the cost of the premium until new employment and coverage is obtained. I hope if President Trump is re-elected, he brings in some average Americans to speak on it, Congress should hold hearings, because this ACA can't continue and free coverage for all is not viable either. President Trump has never had to face the prospect of a medical bill he can't afford, and Joe Biden has never in his life paid a medical bill and only offers "free for all", so he can get votes, knowing free is impossible for 350 millions Americans. Just once, want politicians to listen to the people on this one.
Yeah I reject that because we all saw with our own eyes when it's something "they" care about it happens lightning quick. Suddenly a trillion dollars literally appeared out of nowhere for the stock market but we tell everyday to stay sick and starve. Secondly it would not be free it would cost you nothing at the point of use like the roads and fire department. So your taxes do go up but you end up paying less than you do for premiums. As an example I for a guy making 50k a year usual employer based insurance cost 200 to 250 a month 2400 to 3000 dollars a year. Under a Medicare for all system that person's taxes is raised 3 percent so they pay 1500 dollars a year with no co pays or premiums. It just means the billionaires and millionaires pay more for their taxes to balance the system. So unless you're ultra wealthy I don't see why you'd be against it.
Let's be honest, a lot of people who are voting for Joe Biden want the feeling of normalcy that comes along with and old fashioned politician. So I don't think Joe's decades of being a Washington insider hurts him in the least.
It would have been better than normal except the rabid, vindictive Dems with their silent coup came after Trump with a vengeance never seen before. The outsider had to be destroyed. I'm so glad he exposed their fake virtue, we learned exactly who the Dems were/are. We learned the Media is bought and paid for by the Dems and l thank Trump for that. Journalism is indeed dead. You can have your normalcy, the old guy who doesn't know where he is half the time. Joe is not normal, he's incapable of leading us and will be controlled by radicals who want to destroy America. God help us if he wins.
Your raised income tax of $1,500 plan doesn't covers the trillions it will cost to fund free healthcare. Other costs of living will have to be taxed unmercifully to pay for it. Don't forget free education. Free housing will follow. And there is your socialism. You get a free flat, free Govt controlled education with a degree that you really can't expand on and free healthcare where you will get in line and wait months. This isnt Sweden and Australia, we are 350 + million people. Nothing is truly 'free'.
I literally explained to you how it wasn't free it would be free at point of use. I also pointed out that raising taxes on all those people who got tax cuts in 2017 would help as well. You are also ignoring that overall it would be cheaper because people would get care before it becomes too costly. So instead of ignoring a pain in your stomach because you don't want to pay for the visit or possible visit you don't wait till it's a real problem and cost thousands instead of hundreds. And again we ALWAYS find money for non people centered endeavors. Subsidies for oil we find it. Money for needless wars we find it. Money for tax cuts for the rich that cost us two trillion dollars we find it but helping the American people is always too expensive. Sorry I do not buy it. Free college is way cheaper than subsidizing insane student loans for these over priced colleges. Also free college is for public institutions there will still be private schools so no worries.
Free at point of use? What is the difference? Raising taxes on those who got a tax cut in 2017. Are you serious? That's your answer? That initial pain in the stomach was tended to before ACA. If you had no money or insurance, it still was tended to. That pain in the stomach under free healthcare for all starts out small, but ends up being a very costly visit. Because a barrage of testing will be done to rule everything out and if you don't think they don't do that now, trust me they do. And can we address the astrinomical cost of healthcare being used to fund care for illegals, who deliberately take advantage of the U.S? Tighten that up, please.
The difference is like prepaying vs paying afterwards. If you prepay its cheaper for you when you use it. Right now I have to pay for Healthcare the only difference is the Medicare for all is cheaper. No has ever disputed having care available the point is how much will it cost me? 200 bucks a month then 5k once I've used it or 250 dollars period. You tell me which one is cheaper. Yes my pan is to raise taxes on people pay very little. Are you going to argue the only way we get a functioning country is to allow a handful of people make more money than they will ever use in three life times while people starve? I doubt health-care cost for undocumented immigrants holds a candle to corporate subsidies so if you're concerned with unnecessary costs why not focus on the biggest and most identifiable ones
Agreed! I doubt anyone is so married to the ACA and must have it or nothing else. The problem is that trump, and GOP before him all talked of getting rid of the ACA, but always lacked in detail about a viable replacement.
Heres a good article on the cost. It seems bipartisan, despite advocating for a lot of services.. Again, we are talking coverage for 350+ million people... https://www.crfb.org/blogs/how-much-will-medicare-all-cost
Please do not call me selfish, I am aware of some of the flaws of the current health care, as my parents have some high costs, and for your information, I did NOT have free coverage before Obamacare. I had to pay out of pocket costs, before Obama, to go to a doctor or dentist so do not make assumptions about me, you know nothing about me, so back off with the selfish comment. I love and am a caretaker of older parents is that selfish? have you ever done that? because let me tell you it is hard work, while balancing other things in life. Have you ever been poor? As I stated, I am aware the plan has flaws, but does it make sense, to ax it and rip out the rug from many poorer Americans? during a pandemic no less. You want to know who is really selfish? the president, who has held rallies despite the risks, with thousands with no masks, and there have been cases and deaths related to his rallies, so don’t give me that BS. Let’s see, who else is selfish? how about greedy companies and corporations? I bet they don’t give flip what happens to me or my loved ones. Those are the people you need to go after calling selfish, not me.
Oh stop being so melodramatic. The ACA is not going anywhere until they come up with a better plan. Otherwise it would have been axed his first 100 days in office almost 4 years ago. The ACA is a super expensive and shitty plan, but until they find a better solution, it's here to stay.
Why would anyone WANT to go back to an "old-fashioned" politician. Trump is literally the first president in decades that didn't start a war. And don't come at with me about Obama, we were bombing 7 countries under him.
Why do you think Joe Biden got the nomination in the first place? Democratic voters had their choice between super progressive and radical paradigm destroying candidates, yet they chose a moderate white man in his 70s, who has been a politician for longer than I've been alive. It's not because they were looking for "change" or an "outsider" no, they want the familiar again, they want things to be predictable and reliable even if it's only superficial. The Supreme court is hearing a case NEXT WEEK that could have an effect on the ACA, will the Republicans have a plan ready by next week? They have had 10 years to come up with a better plan so I doubt they will have one going next Tuesday. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/25/the-supreme-court-may-gut-the-affordable-care-act-whats-next.html .
Oh stop, both of you. No, this below is crazy. Priorities, frfr. "Glenn’s chief researcher, Jason Buttrill, details exactly what far-left groups have planned for Election Night (and in the days following the election) to spread chaos on our streets. One group, Protect the Results, has an interactive map on their website — protecttheresults.com — where you can see if a protest is planned in YOUR city. They receive funding and support from every sinister organization you could imagine; they even proudly include on their partner list the Democratic Socialists of America. So, today at the voting booth, you must decide: do you want to support a party that’s in bed with violence or a party that stands against it?"
