Yeah that 18 months till we have a vaccine ready for the general public that Fauci was talking about last month seems like an optimistic timeline rather than a realistic timeline seeing as 5 years has been the fastest a vaccine has ever been ready for the general public in the past. Not to mention there's still not a vaccine for the other Coronaviruses like SARS & MERS. I don't even think we have vaccines for some of these viruses that came up in the last decade like Ebola, West Nile, or Swine Flu.




I think people should be more focused on drug & antibody treatments since those are gonna be ready for the general public a lot sooner than a vaccine:

Which is why we need to phase back into normal life. There is no reason for all of these people to be unemployed.

 

Anyone who is telling everyone to stay home for many more months either still has their job or is getting unemployment. Unfortunately, not everybody can stay home and do yoga and watch Netflix on their bosses dime.

If anyone is afraid to go out, they have every right to stay home, nobody's going to make them leave. The compromised can shelter and take all necessary precautions.

But these lockdowns can not go on until everybody is cured, or when a vaccine is created, which is 2-5 years down the line.
There are millions of independent contractors and small business owners who never saw a dime of the SBA loan, other people can't get through to unemployment or haven't gotten a payment yet, only 88 million people received the first round of stimulus checks, people are broke, people are hungry, people need to, and want to go back to work.
