Shake Shack got their ass handed to them. Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Burger King, Potbelly, Harvard University, to name a few, are on notice. Return the money. It's not for them, it wasn't for them. Grimey vulchures.

Same with the 3 big Banks who extended it to them first (which should never have been at all!) because their commission was highest.
    Bank of America, Wells Fargo..

Over 25% of the PPP loans meant for small businesses went to 2% of Big chain/ Corps companies, some who have over 5,000 employees. Any publicly traded company should not have gotten their hands on a dime.

Seriously? Wasn't he the one who banned travel to and from China back in January? I think the above meme is a little ridiculous. He certainly didn't cause this. China did. Let's lay the blame where it belongs, in the hands of super secretive Communist China who lied and denied and allowed its citizens to TRAVEL THE WORLD for the Chinese New Year, thus spreading the virus all over.

Trump had a terrible initial response to the coronavirus, starting off by calling it a 'hoax'. He cut funding to the CDC, eliminated the WH pandemic response team and refused to accept the WHO testing kits that were made available to our country.

Trump is the ONLY U.S. president who trusted a Chinese leader was telling him the truth. That's on Trump's own naivete, no one else.

Just because you don't start a fire doesn't mean you don't share blame in how that fire spreads.

It's weird to me even as we lose thousands of people and millions of jobs people still ignore the obvious. If it were Obama or Hilary we can guarantee they would not tell the American public it was hoax. Hell any president before this one would not have removed essential government staff and not replace them for 2 years. Seriously what's the reasoning there? If you only want people loyal to you fine but for God's sake just hire a ton of Republican scientist and call it a day.
Shit like this is why I think we are totally done as a country. Even in the face of imminent pain and untold destruction we have millions upon millions of people who for some reason see life through a Trump colored lense. He can do no wrong its everyone else's fault even when he's literally the only person with the power to do something.

I'm not going to debate you about Trump. But, to blame what is going down on him is folly. Unemployment is HUGE everywhere in the world because of this pandemic. Is that Trump's fault, too?

We would STILL be in this mess even if he did everything right, immediately. We'd still be in this shelter-in-place BS crap that keeps getting extended and extended.

This is not Trump's fault. It's not. It's COVID-19's fault and where did it come from? Oh yeah, China. NOT the US.

Until we have comprehensive testing nationwide and have a better grip on how this virus is spreading and who has it, there won't be progress against COVID19.

    That's Trump's fault.

Crisis response is one of the main responsibilities of a U.S. president. So far, Trump has shown he doesn't know what he's doing.

Again with the nonsense misinformation unemployment numbers are still in the single digits in most of the world.
We are hitting depression era numbers only 7 weeks in, 26 million Americans unemployed. He had months to get ahead of this months. We wouldn't be unscathed but the damage would be far less. By simply using the war time protection act he keeps talking about to fricking make masks and gloves for healthcare workers could save people that's squarely on him.
And the fact you call shelter in place bs shows your gross miscalculation of the situation. 45000 dead since January we now lead the world in cases and deaths and we've been dealing with it less longer. This is not a game.

AGREED! His fans keep going on and on about it's not Trump's fault. No one blamed everything on him, but we've consistently blamed his response. including his misinformation. It's amazing that he can be such an obvious clusterfuck, and his fans still can see no wrong on his part. Shit, my thing is... If I lose a loved one to COVID-19... I truly don't care about where it started, but I totally care that my federal government was twiddling it's fingers, calling people names, spreading bad info early on instead of immediately taking action to hopefully mitigate the problem.

I think he doesn't care. You have subject matter experts saying this is bad, and won't go away so easily, and this president saying otherwise to suit his own agenda. He should've learned decades ago that he can't speak (lie) things into reality.

This article dated April 4th, says differently: https://nypost.com/2020/04/04/globa...o-a-halt-as-coronavirus-job-losses-take-toll/

The economy needs to get back on track and soon. The government can't indefinitely keep us on lockdown without major financial ramifications for most lower and middle class people.

People can go out and wear masks if they want. The vulnerable can still shelter in place and order their necessities online.

Without testing you won't know who that is and we don't know enough about this virus yet. So what does a back on track economy look like? Mindlessly going about your business like nothing happened? We are forever changed. No one is going to feel comfortable eating out or going to public places the same way again. Even for every person who thinks like you even more won't want to spend whatever little hard earned money they have on traveling or going out to shows. Few businesses are going to want to deal with the stress of healthcare or legal liabilities associated with having a staff that can get a contagious disease. You guys are being insanely short sighted. You're fighting the wrong fight.

I think you're wrong about that. People who have been behaving a certain way for their whole life will go back to behaving that way again.

However, if there ARE changes people will adjust.
Do you remember when nobody wanted to fly after 9/11 and then the airlines were booming, so many people were flying it was ridiculous, planes were packed like sardines. The threat that the plane could be hijacked and crashed never went away.

Do you want to end up like Venezuela? With long food lines and people scavenging for food, because when you stop the production, you stop the product and without the product we don't have anything.
I know you love socialism but do you really trust your government to provide for you for everything ? -- housing, clothing and food? Because as you can see, people can't even get through to unemployment to even file a claim.
