I won’t lie, I was one of those naysayers up until a few days ago. I already noticed the little things people do in public with their hands and when they cough... but now that’s turned all the way up. I’m at Walgreens right now filling a prescription & I’ve never felt more alert. These sports cancelations don’t help either.

Well at least you're still out and about, and buying things which is a good thing.
Question: during cold & flu season, if people coughed around you and they didn't cover their mouth, did you notice?

Quest and LabCorp confirm that their coronavirus tests have launched and are rapidly scaling

    Full statement of Quest Diagnostics:

'On March 9, 2020, Quest Diagnostics introduced a new COVID-19 lab-developed test. Providers anywhere in the U.S. are now able to order the new test service. We are also scaling capacity now with the aim to validate and perform testing at other Quest Diagnostics high-complexity laboratories serving the United States. We expect to be able to perform tens of thousands of tests a week within the next six weeks.

'The Quest Diagnostics’ SARS-CoV-2 RNA, Qualitative Real-Time RT-PCR aids the presumptive detection of nucleic acid in respiratory specimens of patients meeting the clinical criteria of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for COVID-19 testing.

'The test is performed on respiratory specimens collected by healthcare providers and forwarded to Quest Diagnostics. Providers should not refer any patient suspected of (persons under investigation) or confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 to a Quest Diagnostics Patient Service Center or other phlebotomy site.'

Typically yes. I very rarely get sick so when I’m around someone who does that I’m throwing a bottle of Purel at the back of their heads. I’m not a germaphobe at all but my job forces me to be around people from all over the world who just don’t follow them guidelines I guess.

Wow. I didn't know the bird flu was that deadly! 60%! Luckily it's not transmitted as easily. The deadliest viruses usually aren't. I wonder why that is and if that can change. (hopefully not)

They are totally wrong about Ebola tho. Whoever thinks the death rate is only 50% is smoking some good shit. That's waaay off.

What is wrong with you, TDK? Since when did you become so anti-capitalist? Before you became a Bernie Bro, you were all about making money.

Anyway, many "greedy capitalists" are forgoing profits to satisfy your virus fears.

Are you still going to go to your barber? The gym?
I mean, it's things we don't even thing about. Now, it's pariah time.

You're probably too young to remember, but in the aftermath of 9/11, we had an anthrax scare that had people terrified to even walk outside their doors or touch their mail, lest we inhaled the spores that we believed the terrorists had released into our air.

Ive been to the barber a few days ago. I go so late tho that it’s literally him and another barber there with his customer. Stopped going to the gym I just workout at home. Stopped getting fast food too. I don’t think a lot of people realize how much fast food plays a part in life until you stop.

I grew up in Maryland & my mom works in DC so I definitely remember the anthrax scares. I was a freshman in high school when 9-11 happened. We had a anthrax scare on one of our school buses but it turned out to be someone fuckin around.

Italy is now arresting anybody who is found outside, while the country is on lockdown.

They arrested 4 foreigners who were sitting outside in the open air, playing cards on a table.

IF you have the virus, and you knowingly put yourself around other people and they get the virus, if they die, you will be charged with murder and received 21 years in jail minimum. If they recover you still will do jail time up to 12 years.
    Wow.

Just as I suspected, humans are fucked.

"During the fall of 2011, researchers from Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands made a stunning announcement. They had taught H5N1 the nasty trick of going airborne and spreading among ferrets."

"Some senior scientists have said the mutant viruses should never have been created. They note that while the mutant viruses are housed in state-of-the-art containment facilities, the risk of escape is not zero."

That’s crazy. Shit is real out there. Imagine being accused of infecting someone cuz you had symptoms but you didn’t have it.. so the hype drives people to make you guilty until proven innocent. This sounds straight out of a movie.

Making money during a pandemic is sinful. In Europe, their collective governments are responding to this health crisis, they aren't relying on the largess of corporations.

Part of the reason we're in this shitstorm is because Trump didn't want to accept the WHO test kits and preferred instead to have private companies manufacture COVID-19 test kits.

Those are the type of decisions you make when lives are at risk.

Schools are closed, we are preparing to go in partial lockdown.

China sends medical envoys with specialists and supplies to Italy. Helping to fight the problem they caused.

Do you think test kits magically produce themselves out of thin air?

Do you think any government that is using test kits is making them themselves in the back room?
(They're not NY Gov Cuomo who's using slave prisoners labor to make hand sanitizer)

No AB, countries and their governments, or The W.H.O are employing private corporations to make these kits.

So spare the tired 'orange man bad' propaganda for once and use your brain -- If it's the issue of lack of tests that has you hysterical, then why aren't millions not dropping dead, test or no test?

Because the fact is, even if you have had the virus and not known it, you have recovered. So that's a good thing, right?

Of course, if you're at the point where you feel deathly ill and go to a hospital, they will DO a flu virus test and if that comes back negative, unless you are actually on the brink of death, they will then give you the test, otherwise they will send you home to recover.

Very true about the fast food.
(It's funny-weird, I keep getting emails from all different kinds of fast-food companies outlining their stringent cleaning practices..)

I still get my coffee from DD's, Wawa & McD's.. Have not had to change one thing in my life yet because I've always practiced obsessive hand and door hygiene...
(Even pumping gas, I've used sanitizer after).
At the gym too, have always wiped down before using equipment and use a towel to Iay on, (yet free weights, l don't, crazy now that l think about it).

Unless your barber is sterilizing and sanitizing all his chairs and equipment, this virus lives on surfaces for up to three days.
