Stereotypical ghetto, loud mouth black female best friend that they gas up in movies and shows. Overplayed and tired.
Hmmm... I’ll probably pass on it then. Unless, she is given nominal air-time. How often is she on the show?
No I got it but again Cherise's argument completely falls flat because if she felt that passionately about it buy the album and destroy it end of debate.
Yeah like I said they could've done a better job setting it up. But I'm sure you and I know just how annoying she is in her scenes through out this show. lol.
I watched the 1st episode of "High Fidelity" last night. Does Zoe Kravitz remind y'all of Julie Kay? LOL.
I know who she is. lol. And no I don't get that vibe at all. I kept seeing her Mother when looking at her. The older she gets the more and more she begins to look like Lisa Bonet.
Zoe looks like Julie Kay to me. Watching the 2nd episode right now. I was just about ask @The Dark King & @JamalSpunky, if this annoying AF mammy character is 1 of the things they dislike about this show.
I know where you getting it at but I think Julie Kay has smoother facial features in compared to Zoe. Not to be insulting but Zoe has strong and less refined but cute facial features like her Mama.
I don’t watch so I can’t be annoyed. I can say the critics LOVE this character though based on a few reviews I came across.
I watched Zoe's Playlist last night and just like I said shows are stereotyping the HELL out of these black female characters. They have the black best friend neighbor on the show called Mo and you would think her and Cherise are alternate versions of each other. They seem to have given her male best friend Max a girlfriend but are still playing around with her and Simon ending the episode with her and Simon dancing with each other. I'm not really feeling the show didn't hit with me, but maybe someone else here will like it but...
I know. I remember him from Glee. But he's playing a woman on the show so you know how that goes. I'm not going to get into it. lol.
I didn't know he was playing an actual woman, I thought he was just another gay/effeminate/transgender Hollywood black man.
He could be. What I was saying about that was how they try to erase what determines a female and a male. So on the show just to pander to these people they could very well be wanting him to play an actual female.
