Cuba is ranked the same as the U.S. (#33) we spend more on each patient though. We die the same age as Cubans do and so do our kids. Cubans must bring their own sheets and food and light bulbs to the hospital We don't. Their doctors earn no more than a maid does. It's weird. They have better prevention and the world's highest abortion rates. The Govt dispatched 15,000 doctors from their supply of 73,000 doctors.. to work in the slums of Venezuela in exchange for vital oil supplies. The export of medical services has hurt Cuba's family doctor system and caused longer waits at health centers. Elite hospitals are reserved for the Communist leadership and celebrities such as soccer players.. Fascinating, lol.
People all over Europe pay for privale health insurance. Complementary to their public health system Complementaire.
I read british comments often...they reject many prodecures (like here) and if you are too old, they don't try to save you... Too expensive.
Too expensive to save you ? ,Really ? They will be remembered in France for providing abortion services for French women, before it was legal here.
I don't even think political science is a real social science. You would have to be retarded to get a PhD in it. Is it even offered? Lol
I doubt they let people die just because they are old . We already know the NHS has a lot of issues though. I’d recommend the US to look into the Swiss model. It fits better with the American liberal ideas but still includes everyone at least in basic insurance.
They produce good doctors. I know someone who has a hospital in Abuja, Nigeria and regularly travels to Cuba to recruit docs. It’s a win-win. They have got the know-how, he can pay them a decent salary.
Political systems: representative republic, democracy, dictatorship ect.. Economic systems: Socialism, Capitalism ect. Everything started as an idea, but we don't talk about anything as ideas after they exist. Political systems are about the reach of government and how it comes into power. Economic systems are about the means of a societies production, consumption and distribution of goods, services and wealth. In economic systems the government simply has a role to play. The size of the role depends on the system itself. In economic systems the government is Denzel Washington, but the economic system is the movie that he plays in. If the movie sucks then no one wants to see it.
That's just my take. I understand why people make it part of their education but getting a PhD in it would be ridiculous.
I don’t have a PhD and if I did it again I wouldn’t major in Politics again, but for different reasons. I think my life goals changed a bit half-way through and it didn’t provide enough tangible solutions. When I finally get around to doing a Masters it won’t be in Political Science either. And by the way many Master’s degrees aren’t free anymore here either, that much for socialism.
An undergrade degree in political science actually goes good with a lot of things, philosophy, law, economics, anthropology, history, degrees in languages ect. It also builds your writing and communication skills as well. You can also get into an MBA program
The problem is that the German labour market prefers very specialised degrees, unlike English speaking countries. They are all about the name, not the skills you have acquired. I actually wanted to work for an NGO, in development aid or something like that...you see how well that worked out for me! Am thinking of Public Health for the future (among others).
