If the Democrats want to actually win this time, they are going have to put away the name-calling and get over their mouth-foaming hatred of the far-left. They need to also stop acting as if the progressives didn't make a lot of gains in the last two elections (despite fighting wars on two fronts against corporate Dems and the GOP)

Does the progressive movement have issues? Shit yes, they do, but they are here and they have numbers. So the DNC, the DCCC, corporate media, and so-called loyal democrats need to stop sabotaging other Dems, and they need to stop putting the thumb on the scale for people they think they can control like Harris.

Neither the Democratic party nor the Republican party is what they were 10 years ago, so people need to let that shit go, and embrace the new reality.

LMAO, did he just make that shit up??!! Everybody knows about her being Willie Brown's sidechick, but I would assume since she went to school at Howard University, an HBCU, she was dating BM co-eds. I don't know how da fucc he could know about her high school dating history.

Dude. Booker is an empty shell filled up with cash. I've never seen a motherfucker so fake and beholden to his donors in politics.

He undercut Obama's reelection campaign in 2012, when he was one of O's state campaign chairs, because he thought that the (effective) attacks on Mitt Romney's record as a vulture capitalist with Bain was offensive to his patrons.

The "treasonous" shit that Bernie and other left flankers get accused of is what centrists like Booker and Howard Schultz do when the monied interests feel slightly uncomfortable. Look at the motherfucker Shultz. He's willing to get Trump elected because he doesn't want to pay slightly more taxes on money that even his fucking great great grandchild wouldn't be able to spend.

You need to stop watching MSNBC and CNN brother. That shit rots your mind. Bernie ain't doing nothing but pushing policies that are considered mainstream in most other developed countries. Milquetoast, weaksauce corporatist bullshit is how we got saddled with Trump.

Dude, the ACA is shit. It was passed with no cost control mechanism because the Senate Dems let Lieberman strip out the Medicare buy in.

The whole purpose in co-opting a Republican healthcare plan was to get "bipartisan support." They got NONE.

The Democrats conceded on 200 Republican amendments and watered down the bill, and still got no votes.

This was political stupidity on Obama's part. Not only did the Republicans refuse to support the bill, they effectively claimed that they had no input in writing the bill so that the Dems had to own the results of the GOP's sabotage.

Since we know that the Republicans will launch a dishonest campaign against anything proposed by the Dems, why would the strategy be to prop up failing legislation that can be undermined at any time by the GOP when they gain back control?

Do you even understand what you're arguing?

The real solution is for a comprehensive reform of the healthcare and insurance industry and to make universal care available at the point of access like you see in every other developed country.

    1. Clinton didn't get elected.

    2. She ran a terrible campaign and deliberately ignored the swing states to run up the popular vote. (Gee, how'd that work out.)

    3. She's been polling worse than Trump for duration of his tenure in office. If she had been elected, we'd been looking at the very real possibility of a GOP win in 2020.

    4. Sanders and Warren are among the most popular politicians in the country.

    5. Progressive policies are widely popular at present, even with the GOP base.

    6. RE Obama, he was good at getting himself elected, but was fucking incompetent as the head of the party. Democrats collapsed nationwide when he was in office, and they suffered a net loss of a thousand seats on the local, state and congressional level.

    7. Centrist Dems are weak as fuck. Their strategy when they're out of power is to offer the base level of opposition and to wait for people to get fed up with the Republicans' bullshit so that they can get back in the majority. When they're in power, they take a bunch of half measures and do nothing to service the needs of the common man.

That spineless cuck Schumer is fast tracking Trump's judicial nominees for empty seats that were stolen from Obama because the Democrats refused to get rid of filibuster when the Republicans were abusing it. To top it off, some of these incompetent Democratic fucks want to bring back the filibuster next time that they have the Senate majority so that the Republicans can obstruct the entire legislative agenda again.

Look at the last election. Clinton lost by a razor thin margin. Even ignoring the fact that she ran an idiotic campaign and basically told the country that the status quo couldn't improve. If the Democrats had bothered to pass federal voting rights protections when they had the supermajority in Congress, or if they hadn't shot themselves in the foot by defunding ACORN in response to Fox News propaganda, they would have enough voters to win the 2016 election by a comfortable margin. Additionally, they'd have the governorship in Georgia because Kemp wouldn't have been able to purge Black people from the rolls and steal the election from Abrams.

The Dem establishment is grossly incompetent and complacent. Anybody who can't see this has blinders on.

I don't think voters realize the progressive movement has fundamentally shifted the Democratic party, and many ideas and platforms considered 'far left' are now mainstream Democratic ideas.

Kamala Harris is running around the country in favor of legalizing marijuana.lol A far left idea that's become a centrist Democratic position.

I'm not sure were RicardoCooper is getting that the far left tried to dismantle the ACA, since every progressive candidate is in support of some kind of universal healthcare.

Most Americans including conservatives are now speaking out in favor of raising taxes on the rich instead of giving them more tax cuts, something only Bernie was gung ho about in 2016.

Progressives took over Republican state legislators all over the country in 2018, which is the real seat of political power nationally, (they control election protocols).

First time U.S. senator Jacky Rosen beat GOP incumbent Dean Heller in NEVADA. Red country. She ran on renewable energy and reduction of carbon pollution, defense of the ACA, a path to citizenship for Dreamers instead of deportation, raising the minimum wage to $15, tax cuts for the middle class and support for Planned Parenthood.

Rosen ran as an unapologetic progressive and won an election she had no business winning.

Krysten Sinema won in ARIZONA and is considered more centrist than a true progressive, yet she won an election no Dem should ever win.

Nearly every seat won by the Dems in Congress flipped districts either held by GOP incumbents or was GOP leaning. That's why the 40 seat loss in Congress by the GOP was so devastating.

It's only going to get worse in the House as people are waking up to the fact the GOP doesn't fundamentally represent their health, educational or economic interests.

Bernie bots are more Bernie supporters than progressive Democrats, which won't come into play if Bernie decides not to run in 2020. However the majority of issues Bernie ran on have been adopted by the Democratic party.

The Dems have demographics on their side and are proving to be competitive in almost every election across the country.
Shady shit going on behind the scenes aside, who realistically thought a Black man and a Black woman would come a hair's length from winning gubernatorial elections in Florida and Georgia, respectively??
If the GOP didn't engage in their typical voter suppression efforts, those two wins would have been the biggest electoral victories since Obama in 2008.

The GOP is dying, there's no doubt about that. Their core base is shrinking, becoming Whiter and older and Dems no longer have to fear by running as Republican light to win elections.

Too many Republican voters are beginning to admit how much they literally hate Trump. His 30% base won't be enough for Trump to squeak out a victory again, even with support from foreign entities.

All the Dems have to do is make sure they know how they're going to pay for shit because Trump is systematically blowing up the debt, a problem the next Dem POTUS will be expected to fix.

Otherwise if the Dems can fix the ACA, push for green economy infrastructure projects and legalize marijuana and TAX the hell out of it to pay for their economic and social projects, Trump could be the last Republican president we see in a long time.

People also need to consider how well progressives did while dealing with opposition coming from their own party. Like how the DCCC "leaked" opposition research against a progressive candidate in the Texas 7th district race.

I am going to be really disappointed if Warren doesn't win the Democratic primary.

I want that even more than you guys, at this point.

I got plenty of whisky and ice cream for this show.

I'm already expecting hard right government for the next 6 years. Beyond that who even cares?

When I get time, I'm gonna model the increase in greenhouse gases, rise in ocean temperatures, rise in sea levels, just so I can estimate the end out of curiosity. I prefer reality no matter how tragic.

    No fucks given.

Indeed. DCCC is just as bad as the DNC. They were deliberately undercutting strong progressive candidates in favor of corporate hacks.

They tried to force Mike Levin, who beat Darrell Issa for his seat, out of the race even though Levin almost won that seat in 2016 and was leading Issa in the polls from the beginning of the primary season.

These motherfuckers would rather be in the minority than have to deal with members of a caucus who want to pass real legislation to help people.

Republicans tolerate racially ambiguous people better than fully in your face black people. They love a Haley Berry or a Vanessa Williams not because of their features but they get to call them black without having to deal with a very in your face black person. Remember white people set the racial standard of tolerance not the oppressed. Black people on the other hand totally digest anti blackness in the form of loving everything that isn't black as much as we love ourselves if not more. A great illustration of this is business. No other group in the US will ever allow a black business to operate there. They'll steal the idea and do it themselves first. We're the only community where every other group out numbers us in business representation in our own community. So when I say we elevate people like Harris its not just because of her skin tone and hair texture its that little dash of something extra. Its the same thing that makes people brag about having a girl or guy who is mixed with something.

Things your skin would have been obviously too thin for.

    1.) A rap battle.
2.) 2 hours in the military
3.) Basketball at the park with the fellas.
4.) A video game with a human opponent.
    5.) A poker game
    6.) High school jokes
    7.) A street race

Miss me with that weak psychology.

There's no concerted effort from internet Hoteps and Russian trolls that's making people question her Blackness.

The only person raising issues about her Blackness is her. Even ignoring her record as a prosecutor, she's courting Black voters the same way that an out-of-touch non-Black politician with zero exposure to the Black community would.

THe photo is staged, but Harris did attend Howard University as an undergrad for 4 years.

I'm sure this isn't the first time she's put hot sauce on her meal. It's just that she looks like her candidacy is being run by the DNC so everything looks phony.
