Well... First... In terms of society, especially good 'ol US of A... He's absolutely one of us. In other words... America sees Kanye as no different than myself, Jay Z, the black letter carrier I just passed, Kaepernick, C. Powell or my boss who is black and happens to be a well-educated Associate VP at my employer. Most of us (black people) actually care how we (as a group) are generally perceived by society. That's why I (and Lemon) care, and I'd bet that some of the men here would agree. The difference between you and us is... We actually have to live in this skin while you get to either care or not.

I get that Kanye West is his own person like anyone else. That said... I promise you that he totally doesn't speak for blacks. As I said and Don Lemon stated... This is not about politics, personal preferences, likes/dislikes etc, and he's right. This is totally about the fact that he was made to look extremely buffoonish in the oval office as he rambled on not making a bit of sense.

What's interesting and somewhat funny is that you seem to feel we hate Kanye and his thoughts when the truth is that we feel for the brotha. I'd say Don Lemon and S.E. Cupp were very clear in their commentary, and Kanye showed once again that he's not well.

The man is bipolar and for anyone who's had experiences with someone with that specific mental health condition, Kanye was in a manic phase sitting in the WH.

Trump exploited a mentally ill man for a photo op so he can now say in rallies Black people really support him.

Even Fox News has suggested Kanye is now the voice and spokesman for Black America.smh

Trump didn't even have a notepad or recording device set up during his meeting with Kanye, so that shows you how seriously he took anything Kanye had to say.

Just Trump sitting behind a massive empty desk trying not to laugh when Kanye said wearing his MAGA hat made him feel like a superhero.

This whole thing was a major shit show. The man needs some serious help. People feel bad for him. This is a prime example of the lack of mental health care we have in this country. Absolutely what we witnessed is an obvious manic phase. Anyone who has observed it before could tell that! I don't give a rats about his politics. The whole thing was very troubling.

Of course, it reflects badly in many ways. Not just for Black Americans, for all Americans. The presidency has become a mockery.

I certainly don't think NY ever called Kanye or anyone else "an uneducated negro".

Trump administration steps in to kill police-reform plan

CHICAGO (AP) — The Trump administration informed a federal judge in Chicago on Friday that it's seeking to scuttle a plan negotiated between the nation's third-largest city and the state of Illinois that envisions far-reaching reforms of Chicago's 12,000-officer police force under close federal court supervision.

In a statement announcing the intervention, Attorney General Jeff Sessions blasted the roughly 200-page plan, also known as a consent decree, because of the court oversite. And he offered a full-throated defense of Chicago police, saying they must take the lead in stemming city violence.

"There is a misperception that police are the problem and that their failures, their lack of training, and their abuses create crime," Sessions said. "But the truth is the police are the solution to crime, and criminals are the problem."

An 11-page Justice Department statement of interest — filed with Judge Robert M. Dow Jr., who must grant the proposal final approval — says the reform plan, as it is, would deprive police of flexibility to do their jobs right. And it criticizes criteria in the plan meant to assess police compliance as vague.

    What's YOUR solution then?

Sessions is correct IMO, when he stated..

"There is a misperception that police are the problem and that their failures, their lack of training, and their abuses create crime. But the truth is the police are the solution to crime, and criminals are the problem".

    Where do you live, Fred?
I bet you don't live anywhere near the abusive situations that hostaged Chicagoans are forced to endure because of career criminals and the fucked up 600 gangs and their 70,000 gangsters with their silly turf and drug wars.

That's a strawman argument. Nobody is claiming that cops cause crime (well, besides the crimes that they commit). If there are widespread failures in administration and training, then they aren't going to be equipped to police communities effectively.

There have been rampant problems with abuse and corruption in the CPD. You think that the solution is to do nothing?

Here are just a few of the recent high-profile incidents that have plagued the department:

I thought that you MAGAs wanted the swamp drained, or does that not apply to organizations that have histories of abusing black people?

LOL @ a woman who claims to have an affinity for black men in here stanning for Jeff fucking Sessions and claiming that trying to reform a historically racist and corrupt organization like the CPD will make crime worse.

What's next for you? Race realism?

I'd also like to point out for the umpteenth time in this thread that Sessions changed the sentencing guidelines and ordered his AUSAs to pursue harsher sentences for drug crimes immediately after he was sworn in as AG, so the entire premise of this thread is bullshit.

Kim and Kanye are getting used to do PR for an administration that is functionally committed to the prison industrial complex.

I don't doubt her intentions, but I do believe she is getting used. Sessions last act in office was disengaging the DOJ from its role in investigating and reforming police departments that repeatedly violate the civil rights of the people they're sworn to protect. Not to mention of how he and the FBI made no hesitation to go after black people and label them "Black Identity Extremist" but there has OBVIOUSLY been more dangerous white men committing mass murder in the last year! But Sessions doesn't know what a White Identity Extremist is. I would say these killers are that have been committing these mass shootings out of hate.

She's getting played for a compromise that I don't think she understands that is taking place.

Let's be real, ANY celebrity that is constantly talking political issues is probably being used (or/and they're pandering to an audience). So y'all suspicions about Kim being used doesn't really mean anything because that's the norm as far as I'm concerned.

Y'all don't think Meek Mill is being used too? Dude got out of prison earlier this year and all of sudden he became a prison reform activist & is about to release a socially conscious album, when before his 5-6 month prison sentence he was your typical mainstream gangster rapper . You can make the same arguments that Colin Kapernick too.

Who is using Kap? With his ignorant consent? You can say nike, but that is a compromise that actually benefited Kap. And I have not seen Kap support any politician or lawmaker that doesn't serve his interest.

Meek and Kap didn't cozy up to people who've demonstrated that they're ideology is totally antithetical to issue that they're trying to promote.

First off, Kap has founded his own foundation, and isn't being led around the nose by anybody.

    https://knowyourrightscamp.com/about/

Meek is out working with the Innocence Project, which is committed to getting people out of prison.

The Trump admin has actually pursued harsher sentencing as policy and has made it harder to reign in problem police departments.

There's a pretty big difference between the two.

Like I've said before, if Trump actually supports a criminal justice reform bill, I'll give him credit. However, the reality is that outside of the appearances with Kanye and Kim and the Alice Johnson pardon, he's done NOTHING to show that he's serious about the issue. There's also the fact that he's constantly playing kiss ass with the National Sheriffs Association and all of the police unions, which are against ending the drug war because they get funding from the federal government to lock people up.

Freddy is a man of his word. It looks like a real criminal justice reform bill might be headed for Trump's desk. The Senate passed the bill and the House is going to take it up next. If the bill gets to Trump, all indications are that he's going to sign it.

Trump is a piece of garbage, but if he does this, whatever his motivations are, he deserves the credit. This bill doesn't solve all of the problems in the US justice system, but it's a step in the right direction and an improvement on what Obama and Holder tried to do when they started to lower mandatory minimums for drug offenses.

However, since Freddy can't make a political post without throwing shade, he'd like to point out that "reasonable moderate" Ben Sasse was one of only 12 Senators (all Republicans) to vote against the bill.

    https://fremonttribune.com/news/sta...cle_e1eba0fc-1702-5f8c-813a-3ed4cdb50dfa.html

Sasse is more full of shit than Trump. Talks a bunch of sanctimonious bullshit, then goes on to vote with him nearly 90% of the time.

When Trump is finally on board for a humanitarian cause, Sasse is opposed to it. Fuck that phoney, do nothing motherfucker. And the same goes for Kyl, Murkowski, Rubio and the rest of the motherfuckers who voted to maintain those draconian sentencing laws.

This is a very good example of "Damned If you do and Damned If you don't."

un-related but BGS IBMOR Gave a good description in his Ayesha Curry video of what type of black women they just might be. It's The 'ME, ME ME' Complex.

Lol... the comment section is always the best on this type of video.

I will add that what she said should have just been a conversation between husband and wife. But, discretion isn’t popular these days.
