Not even close to the same analogy. And yeah not every Palestinian wants every Israeli massacred and driven into the Mediterranean Sea. Yall act like every member of that church went on TV forgiving Dylan Roof, when really it was less than 10 people if I remember correctly.
Forgiveness has nothing to do with whether the accuser deserves it or not. Of course he doesn’t deserve it. We forgive because God has forgiven us first. Unforgiveness is like eating poison and hoping someone else would die from it. Forgiving someone who has murdered your loved one has to be one of the most difficult things ever, regardless of the colour. My faith would be seriously stretched. However, I was so inspired by the way those guys in the church massacre reacted. What they did is between them and God, He understands what it meant to them more than any of us. Sometimes as believers we don’t do what’s the popular thing, or the easy thing, or the thing that feels good but the one we consider right between us and God. Thankfully I haven’t had to forgive anyone for such a terrible offense but I have certainly forgiven a few people I’d have rather beaten up really well.

It's one thing to forgive. But when they are talking that within days of this happening, that's denial,not forgiveness. There's a process...no matter how deep one's faith. And quite frankly preaching forgiveness minutes after such things happen is NOT helpful to anyone. It's one thing if they are saying "at some point they will forgive", but there should be outrage about these things...they are NOT ok in anyway. Sometimes when people are so quick to do the forgiveness thing it really dismisses the gravity of what's happened. Which just adds to these things continuing.
That's the problem I have with it. It only works that way with black people. Christianity doesn't work the same in the minds of others. I think you know why.
I know you mean well but get the fuck all the way out of here with that nonsense. The fact we keep forgiving this atrocities is why they keep happening. Literally no other group on earth is tasked with forgiving atrocities the way black people have to. Staying angry and vigalent is how the Jews survive and thrive. No one would ever dare fix their mouth to encourage them to forgive an attack on a synagogue. God gave me agency not to sit back and watch my people die but the ability to do something about it.
Exactly there would be old testament retribution. This wasn't war this wasn't an altercation this was THE most depraved and soulless thing I've ever seen. They welcomed this toxic piece of garbage into their church to worship with them. They showed him kindness and even after getting to know them he still murdered them. Think about that, they weren't faceless people in a crowd they never wronged him or hurt him they were kind to him and he still had no problem murdering these people. Fuck him and fuck forgiveness.

I really don't think some of you remember how this all went down and now are judging the family of the survivors like they're a bunch of simps. Roof was trying to start a race war. He wanted to commit an act so heinous and vile that Black folk would respond by murdering random White people The comments by the victim families were calculated IMO. I really don't know what people expected the family survivors to say when Dylan was arraigned in court. Yes, all of them expressed the pain and loss from the murder of their loved ones, but if they all had flown into a rage in court, I bet you Dylann Roof's attempt to plead out for life in prison would have been successful. Instead, Roof pled guilty and still got the death penalty. Because of that act of grace, sincere or not, by those families, Walmart, Amazon, Sears and other retailers stopped selling merchandise with images of the Confederate flag. The confederate flag was permanently removed from statehouse grounds in South Carolina. Many times forgiveness is the act of letting go of hate, which is the opposite of what Roof wanted to happen. Anyway judging those families for their statements IMO is wrong.
The man's own father and uncle identified him. His uncle said he would "push the button" himself if roof got the death penalty. Yet these black folk are all about forgiveness. They wouldn't be so quick to forgive a blackman for much less.
White people still want us to be on that submissive "I don't care how many German Shepards you sic on me" shit. That's why the "love" MLK so much and talk about what "he would've done" and how he's "rolling in his grave".
