I've seen The Last Stand twice and I honestly can't remember anything that I actually like about it. Apocalypse was disappointing to me because it had so much potential yet the storyline just never really came together. It felt too disjointed. I still like that one better though lol.
This. Biggest thing that took me out of the whole movie was the fact that 20 years had passed between First Class & Apocalypse but none of the characters that were in First Class had aged. No wrinkles or at the least some graying hair for the older characters like Xavier, Magneto and MacTaggert? The scenes with Magneto & his family and what happened to them to turn him back to the path of mutant terrorist were good though.
Disney buys 21st century fox means X-men and fantastic four now in the hands of marvel let’s see what they can do with series. Wonder what will become of the Logan series as well

A hard reboot is the only way to go, The timelines of the current X-Men universe and the MCU would be impossible to tie together into a consistent narrative. I know some people would be worried that a full reboot would disrupt Deadpool, but Deadpool exists in his own self-aware pocket universe anyway, so any inconsistencies can be explained by a 4th wall break.
First Look At Alan Ritchson And Minka Kelly As Hawk & Dove for DC/WB's TITANS series Following the first look at Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Robin, Warner Bros. & DC Entertainment have now revealed our first look at two of his superpowered allies, Hank Hall, a.k.a. Hawk, and Dawn Granger, a.k.a. Dove. Smallville and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles alum Alan Ritchson plays Hawk while former Friday Night Lights starlet Minka Kelly plays Dove. The crime-fighting duo and romantic couple are expected to recur throughout the coming freshman season, which is currently filming. Also, considering that Thwaites' photo was released not long before he was scheduled to shoot on-location, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that both Ritchson & Kelly may also have something similar planned over the few days, meaning we may get some set photos within the next week or so if we're lucky. Costume designer Laura Jean Shannon, whose past credits include Marvel's Iron Man and the upcoming CW series Black Lightning, designed all of the amazing comic-accurate costumes for the series, including the Robin suit.
Absolutely not the role is iconic. Again we have a plethora of rich and under utilized black characters why do we need to make white characters black? This ain't Nick Fury
Agreed, It isn't a big deal to race-swap side characters like Perry White or Iris West, but iconic roles should stay as close to the source material as possible.
Iconic to who? Comic fans? Marvel comics wise doesn't even see or treat the character as iconic seeing as he was one of the characters they made redundant every chance they could including killing him off (at the hands of Cyclops another "iconic" character they fucked over) in order to make Wolverine the focal point of the mutant universe. I love how the Black Panther of the MCU and his upcoming movie now has everyone wanting to embrace black comic characters, considering how many "black nerds" were always complaining that most of the existing black characters from both Marvel and DC were lame or bottom tier characters. I seem to recall a few people here expressing how they thought Black Panther was a D-list character and why Marvel was wasting time introducing him in the MCU prior to Captain America : Civil War came out.
I can't describe exactly what makes a character iconic but some characters just don't lend themselves to creative casting in my opinion. I personally always prefer it when black characters get their own identity. Like the aforementioned Black Panther.
I get where you're coming from. Personally I wouldn't have a problem with a black Professor X considering the things that make him iconic are basically he's a bald dude in a wheelchair with telepathic powers. Unlike Magneto, with the whole Jewish mutant who survived the Nazi concentration camps that plays a part in shaping his world view, nothing about Xavier says he has to be white.
But I always think how would we feel if they made a dope black character white. Again why race bend instead of using a good black one
Considering how many white characters dominate comics and sci-fi genre as a whole, how realistic do you think that is?
Like you said the tide is changing with Black Panther. They didn't make Spiderman or the Thor black they took a semi successful character and put him out there and people are going crazy for it. I think we need to give fans a little credit at this point
