A TV series might have the luxury of allowing their popular lead characters to periodically take a backseat to second-tier characters, but a struggling franchise like the DC cinematic universe can't afford to do that. They need their big guns front and center. In fact, there are quite a few critics that suggest part of what contributed to Justice Leagues disappointing box office was the lack of Superman in the films marketing campaign. It only takes one flop to jeopardize a franchise.
DC/Warner Brothers movie game plan is clearly non existent. They've basically had three flops so far (Suicide Squad, Batman v Superman & Justice League). They came out of the gate wrong with Man of Steel and rather than do a Man of Steel 2 in order to establish the hopeful version of Superman they needed to make their universe work, they went with Batman v Superman instead. If you can't get the Trinity of Superman, Batman & Wonder Woman right to be the core of your universe, then why bother at all.
Nolan's Bruce Wayne was young. And being wealthy was also an advantage because it will get closer to the things that matter to him and his mission. Women were and will always be a distraction for him. Batman is often called the world's greatest detective because of his analytical mind. He is a survivor and a warrior.
I'm not optimistic. With all due respect to her work on Game Of Thrones, Sophie Turner is not a strong enough of an actress to carry a movie like this, especially when she is doing a movie in a foreign accent.
Xmen gets such a bad rap when 3 out of the 5 movies they did were good. Especially first class. Most people agree that at least 2 of them were good. I'm going in with an open mind because nothing they do can be worse than justice league. I'm not counting the wolverine movies, they were much different.
Wait.....oh shit.... I didn't even see apocalypse! I'm getting that mixed up with the last stand ( which wasn't good) Which was worse last stand or apocalypse?
Agree 100%. For some reason I have a feeling they aren't going to get the full scope of the Dark Phoenix saga pitch perfect. I was literally depressed as a kid when I read where Jean Grey died, despite the fact she was destroying solar systems. She might have been the most powerful superhero ever rendered by Marvel comics. This can't be a run of the mill X-Men movie.
Reminds me of Frank Miller's Ronin, which I'll never understand why it was never developed into a big screen movie.
There is something about robots with emotions that freaks me out. Just to think of the cruelty it would take to make a machine that can feel fear or sadness is very unsettling.
Wow it must have really been awful. Now I know not to get the blue ray....lol. To me the second one where magneto broke out of prison, first class, and days of futures past were the good ones.
