Compare The Gifted to Heroes.

I was a huge fan of the latter and felt it was really a well executed superhero primetime show grounded in reality.

 

I haven't watched them yet, but I felt the big December crossover episodes the past couple seasons just felt forced & chemistry/timing was off compared to a regular episode. I definitely prefer the smaller/minor crossover episodes on Arrowverse shows over the big December crossover episodes.

 

You forgot how good the batman movies were? I hope I'm not disappointed with Justice league after seeing Thor 3, that was really entertaining. Had the added bonus of comedy like guardians of the galaxy.

 

Good points. They pulled it off with days of futures past tho. Now they should let him fall back some.

Superman was killed while fighting Doomsday. In the comics, Superman had a few solar cells in his body to help revive him. But for the Justice League film it was the Kryptonian restorative fluid that Lex Luthor used with the dead body of General Zod to create Doomsday, thus making Superman violent and confused after being brought back to life. After all this, Superman is the only one who can beat Steppenwolf while the others couldn't.

If the next sequel is in production now, I guess that the Legion Of Doom will be the central story and perhaps Green Lantern , Hawkman or Hawkgirl will be in this one. If it makes it to the third film, Darkseid will come and humiliate Superman.

 

The show's problem and ultimate failure was the fact that it was too grounded in reality and didn't embrace the "superhero" elements. Basically it did what Fox's last attempt at the Fantastic Four did. Tried to push it as a grounded sci-fi show and not a superhero show. The Gifted fully embraces it superhero roots far better than the Fox X-Men movies.

I' ll keep watching the batman movies but otherwise, unless they make a major shift, I'm done with DC. Bats and Flash are the only two characters I like anyway. DC just keeps trying to copy Marvel just look at how they did Flash, smh. Spiderman anyone??

Marvel is McDonalds and DC is Burger king. A business model based solely on following when they are not coming up with original bad ideas.

 

Batman Ninja Anime Trailer

Warner Bros. Japan and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have unveiled a Japanese trailer for Batman Ninja. Takashi Okazaki, creator of the Afro Samuraimanga, is the character designer for the film. The feature is slated for release next year.

 

It's not just DC's problem, it's Warner Brothers' problem because the studio had success with Superman and Bateman in the past. The familiar formula to bring in an audience, but it isn't guaranteed if screen writers are not paying attention.

The Flash, my opinion, was not as good as the 90's show because Barry Allen is an adult. It is good that these actors who were in the 90's show appeared on the new show.
But you are correct that they copied from Captain America:Civil War with Bruce Wayne meeting with Barry Allen just as Tony Stark had done when he meets Peter Parker.
Of course, Tony didn't have to say what Bruce said.

Barry Allen- "What's your super power?"
Bruce Wayne- "I'm rich."

I like Aqua Man. He is like Superman but underwater. Cyborg needs to be reworked.

The difference between DC and Marvel are that DC stories are more plot driven, while Marvel is more character driven.

 

How is it warner brothers problem when for the most part they are following stories right out of the comic books???

Anyway I don't really care. I'm behind on more than enough shows to entertain any downtime.

 

DC/Warner Brother's problem with the DCCU is they tried to Nolan Batmanize the movies rather than just let their characters be who they are. Marvel Studios let's their characters be their characters with some minor tweaking.

Let Superman be the "god" trying to be the idealized human who inspires hope rather than some broody alien who doesn't know how he fits into the world. Wonder Woman worked because they let the character be who she is overall. Let Batman be the "Tactical Detective" who figures out how to defeat all the world ending threats and directs the other more powerful heroes in taking them on rather than trying to go toe to toe with villains above his pay grade. If they used the most popular and well received comic versions of the DC characters they wouldn't have any problems with their movies.

 

I've said a dozen times on various forums that one of their biggest mistakes (besides Zack Snyder) was making Batman middle-aged. Literally, any of the other characters would have been fine as a 45-year-old because their powers can overcompensate for their age, but to depict a hero whose powers are just his mind and his body as a tired old warrior at the BEGINNING of your franchise was stupid.

It's funny that while watching the way Justice League depicted Batman I couldn't help but to think of Peyton Manning during his last Super Bowl. Just like Peyton, it was clear that the only reason Batman walked away with a victory was because his younger (except Wonder Woman) and stronger teammates picked up the slack.

 

Even in his prime Batman never goes toe to toe with cosmic level threats. Batman's role in the Justice League is that he is the "tactical brain" for the team. When he attacks villains who outclass him in battles with the Justice League, it's usually some distraction or set up for one of the other heroes to attack or take out said villain. We're talking about the same dude that literally has contingency plans on how to take out his own teammates if they ever go rogue. Even a middle aged Batman should have been utilized in a productive way. Especially if he knows he's no longer able to physically keep up with younger/stronger heroes.

 

Don't get me started on wonder woman's truth lasso.....lmao. Is that supposed to compare to the black widows manipulative ability.

When Batman was reimagined as the Dark Knight, an older and obsessive personality totally dedicated to protecting the citizens of Gotham City. The readers liked this Batman more so than the previous version who did investigate and resolve a problem. Honestly, I liked that Batman more than the Dark Knight. The Nolan films touched on the investigative side a little bit but focused on Bruce Wayne's journey to being a force for criminals to fear and ordinary people to look up to. I don't think that Bob Kane had any idea what a ninja is but Batman is considered a ninja because of his stealth and fighting abilities.

 

Wonder Woman and Black Widow are not in the same league, but they are both beautiful and brave.

 

The reason I bring up the age thing is because the DC Cinematic Universe is basically still in its infancy and since they are clearly going after the Marvel model they have quite a few years ahead of them. By having a beaten up and slowed down Batman at the beginning of the franchise they have severely limited how they can use him in stories going forward.

Batman is arguably the most popular superhero of all time, a huge part of his popularity is that he is the physical embodiment of human badassery. If he is going to be regulated to the thinker who sits back while other heroes do the bulk of the fighting, the product that is Justice League will suffer.

The Nolan "Batman" was for all intents and purposes James Bond in a rubber suit. Utilitarian fighting ability, rudimentary detective skills and repeatedly let his preoccupation with the women around him almost cost him everything.

 

No it wouldn't. It would be no different than when they do Justice League stories that don't feature Batman.

Considering that both Batman & Superman have had the most TV/Movie exposure compared to all other DC characters, I wouldn't mind them taking a backseat for awhile to allow the other characters to be spotlighted and built up on screen. Superman especially needs to take a backseat film wise unless they plan on expanding his onscreen villains bench beyond Luthor & Zod.
