Has anyone heard or read if Luther will ever return?

That's good news. Perhaps John and Alice could hook up for once; to get it out of their system. They are both willing to back each other up, but the their attraction to each other is very strong. But in John's mind, Alice Morgan is a beautiful, brilliant sociopathic killer and he is a courageous and dedicated detective with an edge that Alice admires. Their relationship dynamic is quite unique. The perfect ingredients for a great show.

It sure is. I wished their relationship was mentioned in the flick Miles Ahead but,it only shown how he was beaten by White cops because he talked with a WW.

I recall about 20 years ago that Wesley Snipes was going to star as Miles Davis in a biopic. I thought he could pull it off because Davis was a complex individual. It was said that if he looked into the audience before a show and saw only white people and no black or others, he didn't go on. I didn't know that he had been in an or. But a lot of black jazz musicians like Charlie Parker did get involved with white women. It continues to this day.
