That is not going to make much sense to end it with finally them getting together. Getting married or him proposing to her, then yes. Fact is their relationship is also a big part of their story, marvel listed them high on their list of favorite marvel couples and audiences know that and know them for that. I'm not saying rush into it, but definitely don't make their relationship a footnote. Plus who knows how long they are going to be running these popular shows. Luke Cage wasn't with Clare Temple that long and he also dated She-Hulk.
And Jessica Jones have dated Ant-Man. Doubt you see those two on these shows. Even though a She-Hulk appearance would be interesting(lol), but they are straight making Luke Cage a Black-Black Show. Netflix are making these shows dark and gritty. Kind of taking a page out of Christopher Nolan's batman trilogy. If they are going to be realistic, then let's not forget where we last left off with Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and her professing her feelings towards him, albeit when he was unconscious but I doubt writers for Jessica Jones or even probably The Defenders sweep that moment under the rug.

I say around the end of season 2 of Jessica Jones or the around the end of season 2 of The Defenders sounds appropriate and about right.
Maybe even give them kind of a off and on relationship? But not too much because it's cheesy it doesn't fit Jessica's style.

Remember that it will be a lot of episodes in if they get to four or five seasons. Your basically saying by the 60th or 70th episode make them a couple and that is more of less treating their relationship as a footnote. Plus the Jessica Jones writers have already written a foundation for their relationship. Being engaged (a proposal) for the final season sounds more appropriate to me. Remember with The Defenders they will be spending a lot of or at least some time with each other, running into one another, working with each other.

Both characters have things they need to resolve. Just let them tell whatever stories they are going to tell with the characters and don't get too hung up on the whole "But They Should Be Together" aspect. That's like people getting all hung up on the fact that Misty Knight should have a bionic arm and she doesn't have one. Not yet.

It comes across like people care more about the optics of the characters more than the actual characters themselves. They can make them shitty characters (Iron Fist thus far) but as long as they get certain aspects/optics surrounding the characters right, they'll give the characters a pass as a whole. Same fanboys that were upset because they thought Luke Cage was too black were the same fanboys overpraising and hyping Iron Fist after it came out because they kept Danny Rand white, even though the white dude they cast was subpar with his portrayal of the character on all levels IMO.

I made it to episode 10 with Iron Fist and couldn't finish it.

    That is all

I understand what your saying, but relationships are much different and more important than a bionic arm. My point is hoping they don't water down the relationship especially if it's to follow Hollywood's trend I'm not saying rush it I think we all can agree to want it done right but don't turn it into a footnote, relationships are apart of any character's development real or fiction, unless they are loners in which they are not especially to each other. Especially since at least in IMO that's not where they were going with his introduction on Jessica Jones. Like I said who knows how long these shows will go on, especially if The Defenders turns into a HUGE success like they are betting. Unless they are separating them a lot in The Defenders they are going to have some kind of relationship, have to look at it from that point as well. What would be the point in watering it down since the writers already went there.

lol. Is it going to be problematic for those who didn't like Iron Fist if it turns out Iron Fist won that fight between him and Luke Cage they had in the Trailer preview?

If you care about IR relationships, especially BM/WW relationships, then you shouldn't care about whether or not Hollywood will "water it down". You know why? Because it isn't their responsibility to represent it or make it acceptable in the mainstream. That's for all of us who date or in IR marriages to do by living life. Relying on Hollywood, pop culture or society in general outside of ourselves to "normalize" our relationships is setting up for failure & disappointment.

Just my observation of the shows thus far, but I don't think they will water it down. The fact that they established the attraction and connection between Luke & Jessica right away says that they will acknowledge the characters greater relationship down the road. They could have easily just not gone down that route at all and not even introduced Luke in Jessica Jones' series. The fact that they did though says something to me at least.

We don't know how many seasons these Marvel series will get because it all depends on how well they do after each release. Time is the only thing working against when we see them officially getting together as a couple on screen.

Actually I'm not surprised because here lately they don't seem to be interested in showing our type of IR relationship on the big or on the small screen...IMO!!!
