SMH. A FISA warrant is required to wiretap American citizens, and the President by law is not allowed to direct FBI investigations.
What Trump supporters fail to understand is, Trump is willingly associating with people who ARE under investigation by the FBI and the CIA.

Also we have international allies who collect intelligence for us and provide those reports to our top intelligence agencies.

For instance if you hang around drug dealers, you can't be surprised if they're under police surveillance...including YOU.

Breitbart, Alex Jones and yes even Donald Trump mangled the original intelligence report, which was that the FBI sought a FISA warrant to monitor a Trump computer server that was in communications with SVB Bank and Russia's Alfa Bank.
Paul Manafort according to those close to the investigation was the target of the FISA warrant, which is part of the reason Manafort resigned as Trump's campaign chairman.

But Obama didn't order the FBI to tap Trump's phones, because first of all it's a felony and secondly it's not the type of order the POTUS can make.

Trump is in deep shit. There are allegations he used his real estate properties to help Russian oligarchs launder money, among other crimes.

Now, the CIA's cyber intelligence office has been hacked by guess who(?), and ALL of the CIA's cyber spying tools are

LOL. Bliss doesn't even have a good conspiracy theory.
Anyone who believes Barack Obama told the FBI to wiretap Trump Tower doesn't know how the Justice Department works.
BHO was briefed after the fact about all of Trump's Russia ties.

At most, Obama told them to keep him informed and keep looking to find out if there is something more.

U.S. presidents don't tell the FBI how to conduct criminal investigations.
Bliss still thinks it's normal that several Trump top aides met with Russian diplomat Sergey Kislyak both publicly and privately during the same time the FBI and 17 U.S. intelligence agencies confirmed that Russian hacked the DNC servers and released that information to wikileaks.

But hey, she probably doesn't believe Russia is using the same tactics and are hacking the French and German presidential campaigns too.

Watching the news gets more and more depressing on a daily basis. Things that used to surprise me, don't anymore. It's like they make up all of their own rules, live in their own reality and we are just mere spectators getting upset and getting nowhere. Deflection and getting away with murder. North Korea, now China... just a matter of time I'm afraid before something terrible happens.

If his goal is to make his boss look smart, he's doing a pretty great job so far. Between Carson and Betsy "Goddamn Moron" DeVos, Trump almost manages to look like he isn't a complete dipshit.

I've seen that clip of Obama's remarks before and the difference between what he said then and what Carson is saying now is that Obama acknowledged that slavery was forced and involuntary, and didn't gloss over that fact. Carson on the other hand completely left the part about it being involuntary out of his comments completely.

EDIT: But I will also add that to the extent that either Obama or Carson tries to shed any positive light on slavery, I disagree with both of them. Some things you just can't sugarcoat.

You mean the same guy that thinks he won the electoral college in a landslide? The guy who thinks that millions of illegal immigrants voted in California? The guy who just settled a class-action fraud lawsuit for millions of dollars? The guy who lied repeatedly about releasing his tax returns? The guy who talked about draining the swamp and then did the exact opposite? The guy who admitted that his whole "Lock her up!!" shtick was just to get votes? The guy who routinely talks out of his ass without a lick of any credible evidence to support what he says?

Nah, I'm with TDK on this one. To call Trump a pathological liar would be an insult to pathological liars.

Watkins always has to be that guy. ...lol

Sometimes he's on point, though. This isn't one of those times. He's missing the context.

"A FISA Warrant is required".. Lol..and surely the previous Admin always followed that law. *Eye roll*.

Seriously AB, where were you the last eight years when l posted countless threads on the NSA's illegal invasion of our privacy.
The lying "most transparent Admin in history" was the most covert and flagrant.

Of course Obama did not order the wiretap - only a judge can order it, but don't think for a second that a wiretap WAS not sought by Obama's administration via the DOJ in the FISA court. We know that warrant was initially rejected by a FISA judge as too broad.
A second warrant was finally approved months later with tweaking and editing. What changed? Trump as the direct target, who then became the "indirect target".
Remember, James Lewis and the intelligence community's denial is thoroughly suspect given the history of Clapper's flagrant perjury concerning NSA wiretapping.

Admit it AB, Obama and his Admin when it came to NSA, were ruthless in their invasions of privacy. From illegal data collections, to suspension of habeas corpus or the abuse of the Espionage Act of 1918 by wire-tapping journalist James Rosen under the guise of espionage co-conspiracy, to wiretapping our ally, Angela Merkel's phone, as well as tapping TWENTY Journalists from the AP, as well as Sharyll Atkinson for trying to expose Benghazi.

It's Obama who is in deep shit, as is his hack, Loretta Lynch.

But let's assume it wasn't by way of FISA - ever heard of Stingrays?

"Stingrays, also known as "cell site simulators" or "IMSI catchers," No warrant needed.
    • Using Super Secret Stingray Technology

    - The interception program, called "Stingray" allows law enforcement to download nearby data. This data can include what's stored on your phone to a conversation you're having right then and there.

Agencies who admit to using the Stingray system say they use it to prevent terrorist attacks. Courts, however, still need to monitor these services.

According to the Associated Press, at least 40 law enforcement agencies across the nation are using the Stingray system. The system itself can be moved around with ease and uses cell phone towers around it.
Following the map is a list of the federal agencies known to have the technology.

The ACLU has identified 71 agencies in 24 states and the District of Columbia that own stingrays, but because many agencies continue to shroud their purchase and use of stingrays in secrecy, this map dramatically underrepresents the actual use of stingrays by law enforcement agencies nationwide.

Below is a link to the report the entire alt-right media got wrong. Trump himself wasn't the specific target of surveillance by the FBI, and Obama didn't order it.
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/17/louise-mensch-trump-russia-ties-media-scoop

The claim that Obama specifically went to the FISA court to wiretap Trump phone conversations is a flat out lie.
Much in the same way Trump's claim that Obama created ISIS is fictional.
It goes much deeper than that and why if and when Congress puts this information under any kind of bipartisan scrutiny, Trump will well be on his way to impeachment.

This avalanche of intel against the Trump administration is slowly rolling downhill the same way it did during Nixon's second term. It's gaining momentum and eventually even the most diehard partisans will be forced to admit the TRUTH.

Trump and his top officials knew and colluded with the Russians to hack the DNC in order to help him win the presidential election.
    That's treason folks.

I can say that before Trump entered office the news was depressing, with all the terrible things that happen in this world but now I have to say the degrees of depression and helplessness are significantly higher for so many because no matter how outrageous Donald Trump's actions while in office (mind you still just a short time and so much further to go) he has the country severely divided like never before in modern history. I am encouraged to see so many standing up for the rights of themselves and others against Donald Trump and his cabinet of crooked, uneducated or unqualified elected officials, I feel like it's only a matter of time before something extreme and likely terrible will occur.

I am also encouraged because so many people are paying attention to politics and world events like never before.
