I never thought Hollywood would have the balls to make a Nat Turner movie, but one is on it's way. The provocatively titled Birth Of A Nation Tells the tale of Nat Turners bloody and brutal slave rebellion. The film recently sold it's distribution rights at the Sundance film festival, for a record $17.5 million http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2016/01/26/slavery-drama-birth-nation-soars-sundance/79334998/
This movie looks hot. Some more info on the movie: http://teaser-trailer.com/the-birth-of-a-nation-movie/ https://www.yahoo.com/movies/sundance-report-declaring-slave-rebellion-1351580446056502.html
Whoa! From the title to this film actually getting made. This if done properly can be the most powerful movie of the year.
Always felt that Nate Parker was this generations Denzel Washington. Not getting my hopes up tho, from the still shots I get a direct to Netflix budget vibe. Better have some powerful acting to make up for it.
