Haha. Man you just painted a really pretty picture. Took me back to my time in NY lol. And here I've always thought it was an Aussie thing! I know that the English like the word Wanker haha. I've got a few English friends very cool people, straight shooters, just like the Americans.

Do you want to know the really funny thing about that incident? The man looked like Bear Grylls. LOL.

Wham UK bandmates called George Michael the Wanker.

There was a film called Get Crazy. It starred Malcolm McDowell as aging rock star Jerry Wanker. Funny movie. Check it out.

You know what I think it was him. He helped you search high and low for your hat afterall!!! Haha.

That is quite funny!!!! I'll have to check it out for sure. Thank you for that!

I just love the Aussie accent. The only time I don't is during the Ashes.

McDowell's name wasn't Jerry, it was Reggie. The movie came out in the 80's. I don't think it's on DVD. But you might find it on YouTube.

The man might've been Bear if he was explaining the importance of keeping a hat on in the windy early evening winter. LOL. I was wearing a cheap fedora that evening.

Forget to add photos of his time with Paige Butcher and Melissa George--he looks so at peace (and who can blame him):

    :).

My one friend who has traveled to Brisbane, and Melbourne absolutely loves the Australian scene. In his own words... "Man, we were busy most of the itme since both were business trips, but I was wishing I was darker complected." My friend is bi-racial, but he's very light-skinned.

It's been on my bucket list for years. I really need to just make that trip happen.

You should definately make it out here. ? I think the Americans tend to hit the bigger cities like Melbourne and Sydney being more comparative to back home. When i was in NY they seemed to only be saying they were heading to Melbourne anyway lol. Brisbane (love the way Americans pronounce this lol) is much more low key. You got the beaches etc but not any really great stores like you do in the bigger cities.

That's a lil sad to hear your friend felt that way haha we love Americans in general. Regardless of the complexion. We will always make you feel welcome.

My friend from work told me she's going to Sacramento for a week for a wedding soon. I always thought it was the ghetto for some reason. What's it like there?

What places would be a must to see in your eyes? Not dependent upon what i like.

It is worth it, trust me. When I went to Sydney it took me about a day before I started loving the place. The racial dynamics are weird because people seemed to not like Africans all that much but they absolutely love American men. I got some side-eyes until I opened my mouth. Then I was good to go lol.

Oh and the country as a whole is absolutely beautiful, too. And I mean breathtaking.

Same with me. Nowadays, I think a lot of these guys are competing to see who can curse the most. I'm often listening to Backspin on XM radio.

Glad you liked it. I've heard from so many that it's the place to go. I'm on this.

Yeah, I think he hates the crap he gets about being bi-racial or "mixed". Thanks a bunch for the encouragement:). It's funny that you mention the way American pronounce Brisbane:). Some time ago, I did learn to say Briss-bin. I've only been to Sacramento just once for a brief time, and didn't see much of it. I actually love California, especially the San Francisco area, Los Angeles, and San Diego. I'm originally from New York which I see you've visited. I now live near Washington, DC which of course there's plenty to see. Did you do much tourist stuff when you visited NYC?

Well you tell him to be proud. My gorgeous son is bi-racial. They're just as much heartthrobs as the dark African Americans.

    And you're welcome!

Haha i prefer to hear Bris-bayne. So adorable!

Ok. That's great! I'm looking to do Seattle, Texas, Florida, DC and Los Angeles plus NY next year. It's like being in a whole diff world over there the vibe is so damn good!!

Unfortunately in the 5 days that i was there in NY, two of those days the town was on lock down from protests. So only got a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge lol. Didnt see Yankee Stadium or go to Harlem or anything like that. Next year tho!

    What made you leave NY?

Haha. I second that. For me though there is a pretty distinctive difference between an African and an African American. You can tell just by looking at the face. Lol. I tried passing on my differenciation powers on to my mum. She just didn't get it! Lol

Glad you enjoyed your time here though!

Sacramento is not bad, actually, but it does have its rough spots like any other major metropolis. I have friends and now family up there (the folks recently moved out of the overpriced hell that is San Francisco). Sac is under two hours away from Lake Tahoe and ski country too. Lots to do up that way. When if finally get sick and tired of the Bay Area and if I decide to stay in California, Sacramento is definitely at the top of my list. :smt023

We've been friends for a long time. In addition to the regular racism/stereotyping issues, he says that he's tired of catching crap from black people (including relatives) because he's bi-racial.

That's great that you liked visiting the USA, and that you're coming back for another visit. I'm guessing you'd be here for at least 2-3 weeks since you're looking to visit several places. I love the Seattle area. So laid-back, but plenty to do. Sorry that you missed a lot of the NYC action on your last visit. The Brooklyn Bridge is awesome to walk. Yankee Stadium is near to the area in which I grew up. Unfortunately, it's not at all a good area of town. You definitely should say hi when you're visiting DC.

Did you plan to visit alone or with friends/family?
