    Can't stand all that attitude.

Yes that go-rilla who slammed her needs to face every bit of the charges I would face had I done something like that, but these kids need to somehow find some values other than "I'm Ms. It (or Mr. It) and no one can tell me nothing."

That scene was a fail on almost everybody's part, including the girl, including the teacher, and especially including the girl's parents.

Kudos to the students who filmed it though.

Now the girl's back & neck is in pain and the state is going to pay her with tax dollars once the lawsuit settles. More fail.

Lol I still get what he's saying I just disagree with him. My kids were heartbroken when their grandma passed. My daughter took it the worst (they were absolute bff's). While I nearly constantly showered my littles with hugs and kisses, they absolutely still took a bath each night, did their homework, did their chores, etc because it's unhealthy to allow grief to put a complete hault on our lives. To move on from our sadness (which is the ultimate goal...no one wants to be consumed by heartache forever) we have to keep going. My ex took his mothers passing incredibly hard but he did his best to lead our children from grief, by example. Thankfully between the compassion and continued structure my kids dad and I showed our babies, we didn't have any acting out from them. Our way worked for our kids. Every parent and child is different though so who knows what would have worked for the young girl in this story.

I love when you yell at me in all caps lol. With all your nastiness towards me, you're lucky I luv ya.

I've said from the beginning that she needs a support system. She's going through it, no ones questioning that. Honestly, if she's in mourning and not emotionally able to handle school (focus, learn, follow direction) then she shouldn't be there. School is for learning. Sitting there on her phone, detached from her environment and blatantly disregarding authority, serves no constructive purpose. If that's where she was mentally at (which would be understandable given her situation), her custodians should have stepped in and kept her home. She may have just needed more time to come to terms with her new life. That's not her fault.

I read up on the girl and it sounds like her foster mom is trying to support her after this incident.

It sounds like she may be finally getting some support and compassion from the person who, right now, is closest to her. I hope it continues.

I completely agree and that's why I'm blue in the face here because maybe she shouldn't be in school she's going through so much in such a short period of time. She needed help not a Stern hand not people telling assuming the worst of her without attempting to get a full picture. A lot of people treat school as dumping ground to have kids babysat without realizing these are human beings with feelings and thoughts not robots. Just sit there shut and learn and I don't give two shits what's going on. That's not a learning environment.

    Stern?

Whats stern about putting up your cell phone?

    Huh?

She robbed the other kids from a day of education cause she wanted to do what she wanted

That's how you'd treat the death of her mom and grandmother?

She didn't rob those kids of anything. That teacher could have written a detention if he cared so much about the children getting an education or ignored it completely. You don't stop your lesson for one kid if you care about teaching a lesson that day with such a small offense.

Right. And what message does that send to the 30 other students in the class. Short sightedness at its finest.

At Fox News they justified that beat down of that student and blaming the student. Conservatives are always blind when it comes to Black oppression.

@raider....you know the one question they continue to avoid.....how does the phone has anything to do with the death of her parents?

Like i said a million times before...the cop was wrong and she had no business disobeying teacher. The student should be in detention or in school suspension

    Period.

Tdks thinking is the reason these kids are off the hook.

"Lil quan why did u slap me? Are u having a bad day? Tell me about it"- tdk

Yes physical violence is exactly the same as not putting a phone away :smt081:smt081

Being defiant can come from a place of grief. Everything in her life is out of control so maybe she chooses to focus on something she thinks she has control over. Again teach great show of compassion. Smh
