The NYPD Will Now Give 'Receipts' To the People They Stop and Frisk

    Our lot has been doing this for a while, you can get a "receipt" as you call it for stop and search or obtain a copy at a later date.

    Not sure it changed very much for us, just that there is a clear way your stop and search should run.
    Obviously if they don't follow through on procedure then end up arresting you and it turns out they didn't follow the guidelines that's where the problems come for them.
    Providing the system is set up fairly off course.

    I was stopped and frisked once, wasn't no problem. I lived in a crime ridden neighborhood and I was out late at night so I perfectly understood why they did it.

    When police stop me, I speak the kings English and they quickly let me.

    Can't find a code of conduct for this stop and search policy and reading the article they are worried about officers not filling in their number properly.

    Even so if these receipt books are audited then you should know how many have been given out and that at least gives a figure on how many stop and searches have been done and gives you a much better idea of what's going on.

    Rather than just relying on those people reporting that they have been stopped and searched.
