So, another Chicago sports figure is embroiled in a rape allegation. Patrick Kane? I'm not so sure he's innocent. Derrick Rose? She's suing him, but not pressing charges? I'm not buying the rape allegation. Especially two years after it allegedly happened. http://www.tmz.com/2015/08/26/derrick-rose-sued-for-gang-rape/ What do you all think? Me? I'm waiting for a Chicago Bear to get accused - making it a trifecta. :smt012
I didnt read the article and this is the first time i heard of this but going off of what u told me, thisis fishy
What is it with prominent black male stars and sexual impropriety... .....whether or not the charge washes out true, the reputation damage is done by the mere allegation of rape....
The Cosby business model has been proven to work. Hoes/jump-offs/groupies have been watching. No real proof needed. Expect more black dudes with fame and money to get accused.
Yea it seems a little difficult to believe. Hate saying that because you never know but the facts don't scream TRUTH imo. Yessir. All you need is a plausible story and you have the power to ruin someone's life.
Yeah, she was allegedly drugged, but was somehow able to leave his house with a friend? Then whilst she was in her own apartment, he broke in with his 2 friends to gang-rape her? It doesn't make sense to me. Yep. It pisses me off for two reasons: 1. Unscrupulous people having that kind of power over another person's career/life. 2. False rape accusations send women's rights back years and only gives fuel to those who buy into the whole "women shouldn't dress like that" type of mentality. According to a statement made my Rose's spokesperson (which I take with a grain of salt until it's corroborated), this is the woman's third (?) lawyer in 2 years trying to sue him for that.
Ding, ding, Ding!!!! Trifling gold diggers now have the blueprint, except with no real evidence and never pressing charges in the first place, it's going to be hard for females looking for a financial payout to soak these dudes for a huge settlement. Unless you're a true sexual predator, a guy with a $100 mil NBA contract has women throwing themselves at him every time he leaves the house and there's no need to be pressed for any woman. Story doesn't sound right.
Not true at all. That nfl player who was handsome no homosexual and made bank stayed drugging and raping chicks. One of the major reasons rape victims do not come forward is because of reactions such as the ones in this thread.
That's one dude, you can't hold him up as the normal for most pro athletes. The woman wants money foremost, she's not even filing criminal charges. That's why she's on her 3rd attorney. People are reacting to her story with suspicion because she dated him for three years, then says Derrick drugged her at his Beverly Hills mansion before she somehow escaped and made it back to her apartment, then she claims Derrick and 2 other men broke into her apartment and raped her, although she claims to remember only 'flashes' from the attack. WTF?? When a rape victim's first target is money she's suspect. If you feel a crime was committed, report it as such. You file for civil damages once your attacker is convicted. This woman is totally following the Bill Cosby accusers' playbook. What she doesn't understand is those women can't file criminal charges because the statute of limitations ran out. The women who claimed Darren Sharper raped them had all kinds of physical evidence including the drinking glass with trace residue of the drug he gave them.
I agree with you but on the other hand not all women should be trusted at their word. The band wagoners (as in the Cosby case) are making things much harder. The fact that this woman wants money and not justice is reason enough for me to wonder about the validity of her complaint. Could she be telling the truth...absolutely. But should we take her at her word and vilify this man when her story has so many question marks?
Not even plausible. Any gaps in the story will be filled with sympathy and of course the stereotype of the hypersexual black male.
I hadn't heard about that before. I'm not surprised though. Most lawyers won't take on a case that they know that they have no chance in hell of winning. And yeah, if he raped her and her first course of action is not to report the crime so that it can be processed criminally but go to an attorney and file a civil suit instead? It would be one thing if she reported it and the police didn't take her seriously enough to investigate but going the civil route was her first choice? Rose's lawyers are going to have fun with that if this thing ever goes to trial.
Yeah. Im no legal scholar but going criminal first and winning would help the civil greatly. It would be like throwing a deep pass and getting it on the one yard line and giving it to the fridge.
This story sounds really fishy. They dated for two years+ When this happened, she's his ex. What are the chances that he would drug her and then going to her house with his friend to take turns raping her? it just doesn't make sense. It's easier to assume the woman was upset because he broke ties with her and because he is one of the worlds top paid athletes, she is claiming he raped her and she's been struggling with mental anguish and suffering. I don't like to be accusatory because bad things happen all the time, but if this proves to be that she is lying, I would not be surprised.
Rape is a first degree felony. Why pursue civil proceedings and not criminal charges? Sounds like a play for money. If the alleged rape occurred in Illinois the person making the allegation has three years to press criminal charges.
