The gunman, possibly a disgruntled (former?) employee, is STILL at large. This is crazy unbelievable. R.I.P to the victims! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ker-Adam-Ward-shot-live-TV-Moneta-gunman.html http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/26/us/virginia-shooting-wdbj/ Excerpt.. Reporter Alison Parker was interviewing a woman about tourism for the area at about 6:45 a.m. when shots rang out. Both women screamed. As the camera fell to the ground, the audience caught the briefest glimpse of a man who appeared to point a gun toward the downed cameraman. The station cut away to a shocked anchor, Kimberly McBroom, back in the studio. Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27, were killed at Bridgewater Plaza near Moneta, the station, WDBJ-TV, reported later. *******
Alleged shooter is a BM and former reporter with the same local newstation. Rumor is he used to date the woman who was shot. What's sick is this madman recorded the shooting while it was happening. WARNING: the video is crazy insane and probably will be pulled soon from YT.
He is a reporter?? Wow. Why?? And he filmed it himself? How awful. For sure YT have removed it. Where did you read they were once lovers? He'll likely plead crime of passion then, if they don't shoot him when they catch him. Ugh....more scorned violence against women in failed relationships.
THe suspect is dead, shot himself in the head while being pursued by police. He sent a letter I think to ABC News which is how law enforcement was able to track him down so soon. EDIT: Latest report says he was captured after suffering a life threatening self-inflicted gunshot wound. Earlier report I heard said he was dead.
I don't believe the suspect and the reporter were in a previous relationship. On his "Bryce Williams" Facebook or Twitter account, he claimed that she used a racist slur against him. And that he was mad that she got hired over him, or something like that.
Regardless of why it went down, RIP to the victims and prayers going out to their families and friends. What a senseless act of violence.
Condolences to the reporter and the cameraman. In other news, wal-mart plans to stop selling AR-15s and other assault rifles. Now, if the country could eradicate its gun culture, we would be far better off.
Oh wow. Sounds like he is on the verge of death though. Right. Filming it adds a sadistic twist, rather than it being a sudden overwhelming desire as a result of heartbreak or jealousy.
You got to love wikipedia. They move fast to put info on there. Now not to sure if it is true or not. :smt042
Should be interesting to hear the renewed calls for gun control, and tougher screening for permits that will arise out of this tragedy.
what? I don't see how you can even address it. This guy showed no mental history. If he didn't use a gun, he probably would of used a knife.
Its already happening per below, politicians always take the opportunity to push their pro/anti gun control agendas whenever shocking and terrible gun violence happens... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...5ddd4fbe4b0a40aa3acea2f?kvcommref=mostpopular http://www.businessinsider.com/hillary-clinton-virginia-shooting-gun-control-2015-8
If a guy(who was mentally deranged) can shoot 32 people dead in Virgina then I doubt two will sway them. correction: I looked up the vtech massacre and they did put in some gun control. I just personally don't see how this shooting will make a great change. This is probably three of how many shootings annually. I just see it being minimized. It takes something as big as vtech for their to be changes.
I was thinking the same thing. His proximity was so close He could have stabbed the cameraman, and chased down the reporter and stabbed her. You also make a valid point about the 32 shootings and no effective laws changed. I also think that even if any of the 3 victims were armed, no one would have had time to react and draw. But l could be wrong..
