http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...r-said-didn-t-want-black-man-bring-goods.html Marcus Bradley was making a delivery for Lowe's in Danville, Va., when his manager called and told him to return to the store. Bradley, who has worked for the home-improvement behemoth for 11 years, said when he asked why he couldn't deliver the item, his manager told him, "Because you are black, and they don't want you at the house," WSET-TV reported. When Bradley returned to the store, a white driver replaced him for the delivery, WSET reported. Bradley told the news station he would continue working with the company, but wished the situation had been handled differently. "I would think Lowe's would take it into consideration to think about what they're doing next time," Bradley told WSET. Chris Ahearn, a Lowe's spokeswoman, said the manager involved is no longer with the company, The Washington Post reported. "We've reached out to the drivers, and one of our senior executives went to the store to apologize to them in person," she told the Post. "We have zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind, and we should never have accepted the terms of the sale with the individuals who were delivered to."
If you can't accept the driver, you shouldn't be able to get delivery. That's how that should've been handled. Put that fool on a list of places that the company refuses to deliver to. Article says the manager is "no longer with the company"? Presumably he was let go, and that's a good thing. Even if he wanted to replace the driver with a nonblack one, he didn't have to rub it in like that. That kinda shit has a cumulative effect and fighting back against it is a good thing. :smt023
I completely agree with you. The manager should have handled it differently - not delivered the package and sent it back. Terrible
