Anyone here love classic soul music of the past. I was at a gathering recently that had classic soul music of the 1960's and 70's being played only. Talking about a reaction, it was great.
Classic soul music had genuine emotion in the vocal performances, original instrumentation and arrangements; all designed to assault the senses, making the listener feel all sorts of emotions. It is also a connection to black cultural heritage of jazz, blues and gospel music. I had heard and now I can feel what I've heard all those years ago. Today it is all about money and gimmickry. No substance at all.
