I think the POTUS was overstating the case. He (and the Dems more generally) have been losing ground since his election, despite his re-election.

Our media today is totally lax and derelict in their role as watchdog for the public interest. If Nixon was POTUS today and there was a break in at the Watergate, there would be no Woodward and Bernstein digging into the weeds to connect the dots to the Oval Office. To have the outcome of two Presidential elections decided by the governor of FLorida(who happened to be Dubya's baby bro), and U.S. Supreme Court, and another election swung by electronic voter machines that didn't provide a paper trail whose software allowed votes to be flipped after they were cast is unbelievable. An historic corruption of our political system. And no one in the media gives a damn.
