teen attaches gun to drone and it fires. not against the law? -investigation/story?id=32585072[/url]

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a video showing a handgun being fired from a drone in Connecticut.

The video – posted to YouTube July 10 and titled “Flying Gun” – shows a quadrotor drone with a semi-automatic handgun mounted and firing remotely in the woods.

This is potentially dangerous. Murders can be committed and it would be harder to solve.

U have other things that could be dangerous to the public. Example you car can be hacked and the hacker can take over your car.

Has technology gotten way too much and dangerous?

I read a comment on an article about this and someone posted a link to a YouTube video from 3 years ago where some guy hooked a machine gun to a drone.

This is one of those times that we, as citizens, can say, "Thanks, Obama" and mean it.

    Wow.

This sure is an AWESOME time we live in. :(

Mass murderers take sadistic pleasure In seeing the victims die at their hands. They also usually kill themselves after.

Not so fast there Books, cant blame President Obama for this...

Feinstein said, "We have no regulation of drones in the United States in their commercial use." Feinstein’s wrong: Not only does the FAA regulate the commercial use of drones, it actually bans it. Still, the landscape is changing. At Congress’ direction, the FAA is drafting new regulations. How those rules will address privacy concerns, it's too soon to tell. But it's inaccurate to say there’s "no regulation." We rate her statement False.

    As for this specific case

The gun drone in Connecticut appears to have been fired on private property and -- so far, authorities said -- it did not appear any laws were broken. There were no complaints from neighbors until after the "Flying Gun" video went viral with almost 2 million views as of Tuesday, authorities said.
"It appears to be a case of technology surpassing current legislation," police in Clinton, Connecticut, said.

The Federal Aviation Administration and federal law agencies are also investigating "to determine if there were any violations of criminal statutes," the FAA said.

Brave new world but not even really worried. I see this no different than a sniper. People have had the ability to long distance kill since the bow and arrow.

    Yeah but this is worse.

They can kill u remotely and the cops are complaining it would make it harder to solve the crime

Again its long distance killing no different than a sniper to me. And because they operated electronically with wireless tech its actually probably far easier to track them and solve a crime. Everything leaves a signature especially digital crimes. Part of my job has shown me how much doing things digitally leaves you so exposed.

    Really.

    Interesting

Wouldnt the biggest thing be that they have to get the drone immediately to know who owns it?

In thinking more on it....a sniper could be worse.

Exactly there's very little you can do to trace a gun back to an individual unless they already have the suspect in mind but we constantly leave digital trails very few people have the skill set money and time to mask themselves. I a lot more concerned about biological weapons in crowded places.

Yeah. It still concerns me though.

    Its another way to kill.

Also in my mind if i invented that thibg i would have regrets giving it to the public and not hyst govt use.

Speaking of digital.....cars getting hacked and being taken over by others us scary.

    U heard about that

Yeah saw it on Young Turks. I actually like it. It makes human drivers still useful and attractive for liability issues.I'm concerned about tech replacing people for jobs. Thank God for hackers and viruses

Lol. Good point that will make people think twice. We are getting way too dependant on conputers

But this was nt driverless cars though

I'm ok with someone's job just being in a car or bus or train to press an emergency button in case shut goes wrong

Yeah. The hacker taking over is seriously a bad thing for me though.
