So we're dabbling in the world of comics & superheroes are we? Decided yet if you're a Marvel Zombie or DC Addict or haven't gotten that deep into it yet? :)

LMAO! Dabble l wish, l was thrust into it. Marvel all the way! (Though who doesn't love DC's Batman and Superman, c'mon, lol.). Seriously, how can you not fall for the Shield's Superheroes once you get to know them, and the people behind them..

Yeah great work and offers some interesting questions about our place in the world when robots become common place. I personally think that those who can afford to will become modified/transhuman like Ray Kurzweil has been saying for years. Those who can't afford to will be ultimately be left behind and that will the be last great divide between classes and soon after will be the inevitable extermination of those who can't "upgrade" in the interest of competing for dwindling resources.

    Say Hello to Elektra.......

Marvel has announced today that Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, District 13: Ultimatum) has joined the cast of Daredevil. Yung will play Elektra, the mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle. The first season of Daredevil made reference to Elektra, but now Yung will portray one of Daredevil's fan-favorite characters.

Elektra marks the most recent major addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she will join Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in the upcoming season of the Netflix Original Series. "After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity," said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb in a statement today. "Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for."

I looked her up because I didn't know anything about her. After what I've seen of her, I think this is pretty good casting.

Once again shows that Marvel is much better at casting it's characters than DC/WB is.

If another X- Men film is in the works, she would make a great Psylock.

Actress Marisa Tomei is the New Aunt May???

Variety reports that Marvel and Sony have chosen Marisa Tomei to play Peter Parker's Aunt May in Spider-Man. While the deal isn't in place just yet, it definitely sounds like it will happen, and this is a very interesting and unexpected decision. At first glace, it seems like she's too young to play the character, but bear in mind that Tom Holland's Spidey will be around 15 or 16, and Tomei is 50.

There are obviously no details about what kind of role she'll play in the movie at this point, but the site has an interesting update on what's happening behind the scenes. Marvel and Sony are apparently looking for a writer to work alongside director Jon Watts, but are currently looking to prioritise finding a cast they can sign up for multiple movies before production starts next year. Tomei isn't expected to show up in Captain America: Civil War, but Holland still is.

UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter reveals that, "Contrary to other reporters, THR hears that Tomei's Aunt May may be making her first appearance in Marvel and Disney's Captain America: Civil War.

Miles Morales Will Be the Marvel Universe's Main Spider-Man

The New York Daily News reports that, in the aftermath of Marvel's summer blockbuster series Secret Wars, Miles Morales will take center stage as the face of the company's relaunched Spider-Man title. The new series will be led by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli, who created the character in 2011, and will effectively replace the Spider-Man titles that were recently canceled in the run-up to the event.

    "IT'S THE REAL SPIDER-MAN."

The decision to bring Miles to the fore reportedly comes as a response to the calls to bring Miles to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man, will still be behind the mask for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, Marvel is taking the opportunity to make Morales that much more important to the iconic superhero's mythos, especially as it continues to strive for diversity. "Our message has to be it’s not Spider-Man with an asterisk, it’s the real Spider-Man for kids of color, for adults of color and everybody else," Bendis told the paper.

Miles is becoming a core part of the Marvel Universe as a consequence of the world-shattering events of Secret Wars, which sees the publisher's Ultimate imprint being folded into mainstream continuity. When the dust settles, Miles will also be inducted into the "All-New, All-Different" Avengers, right alongside the popular Ms. Marvel, the new Captain America, and new Thor. That doesn't mean Peter Parker won't be around. The Daily News reports that Parker will serve as a mentor to Morales, and all signs point to his still being active in some capacity going forward. What role he'll take as a superhero is unclear.

Making Miles, a biracial teen of African-American and Hispanic descent, the next Spider-Man is a powerful move (one that the films should replicate sooner rather than later). Echoing sentiments Dan Slott shared with The Verge, Bendis said Spider-Man's mask lets him be anyone. "Many kids of color who when they were playing superheroes with their friends, their friends wouldn’t let them be Batman or Superman because they don’t look like those heroes but they could be Spider-Man because anyone could be under that mask."

I like both the casting of Marisa Tomei and the Miles Morales selection for the storyline.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't that Galactus in the background? How is he gonna play in a team? This has peaked my curiosity.

Also I just noticed that the team has two characters currently named Marvel and one formerly named Marvel.

    THE RE-MASCULATION OF CYBORG

An interesting article I found on a comicbook website, about how the DC comics hero Cyborg has been a castrated Black man for too long. And the hope that he can be made more whole(re-grow his penis) in his new series.

Wesley Snipes Talks Blade 4 & It's Potential Involvement In The Marvel Universe:

    http://geektyrant.com/news/wesley-snipes-talks-blade-4-and-potential-inclusion-in-the-marvel-cinematic-universe

Wesley Snipes' Blade was way ahead of the game as far as superhero movies go. The first film came out in 1998, years before Bryan Singer and Sam Raimi would invigorate the genre with X-Men and Spider-Man, respectively.

The third film in that franchise, Blade: Trinity, came out over a decade ago in 2004, and since then, Marvel Studios formed and become a dominant force in the entertainment industry. Now that Snipes has resolved his legal troubles and is back acting again, what about the possibility of a Blade 4? In an interview at Comic-Con, the actor spoke with Deadline and provided a tantalizing hint:

SNIPES: I just hope that [at the panel for his new show The Player] we don’t have all the questions centered around if I’m going to do Blade Four or not.
DEADLINE: Well, will you be bringing the vampire hunter back?
SNIPES: The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.
DEADLINE: Could we see you going the ever expanding Marvel Universe in another way?
SNIPES: That’s a possibility too. I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and I’d be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don’t to aBlade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful. The first season of The Player will be interesting as well because we have drama and action, which is what I like. It gives me a chance to do a number of different things.
I feel like Snipes' Blade would be a better fit on the Netflix shows, where he can operate alongside The Punisher, Daredevil, and people on that level and not have to worry about the massive problems the members of the Avengers have to deal with. And since those shows are technically considered part of the larger MCU, that could be exactly what Kevin Feige and the other Marvel execs have in mind.

What do you think? Would you like to see a Blade 4?

I don't think Galactus is part of the team, but a hint at the type of threats they would go up against. But then I could be wrong since Marvel has done more than it's fair share of WTF type of crap over the last several years.
