TDK...super busy day lined up..and l want to respond to your comment later.. because both sides need to have a dialogue to move forward with solutions (or as you said, effort)
I feel you but I would be more concerned about the "war" we've waged on one another for the past 25 years. Black on black killings > cop to black killings, the ratio is probably 300 to 1. (Just a guess).
Haven't you learned that you can never mention the ridiculous amounts of black on black killings here There'll all stupid gang bangers killing other bangers anyway...who cares if a baby catches a stray every now and then (Cue jesse Jackson scared when he sees another black guy following him)
Ok so let me ask you both this. Do you think this is a question of morality or more an inevitable outcome of circumstances? Destroy education arrest on minor infractions destroying future potential of getting legitimate jobs creating a culture of hopelessness this is what you get. Criminal activity is usually born of desperation not legitimate choice. There's a, reason you don't see violent crimes in middle class suburbs at the rate you see it in poverty stricken areas. It's the same story from Russia to Jamaica to Laos to France. Starve the people of opportunities this is what you get.
You have to make that opportunity. You know, work jobs you don't want to work (outside, ect). Have respect for others and yourself. You can't hang at the club with your child. And it's not just blacks, it's the majority of this "new" generation. Take a look around fam. As for the middle class, they have other shit to worry about (OxyContin, cocain, ect). Oh, and suicide when life gets fucked up.
I know people like that A female cousin of mine made a stink because her mom hooked her up with an outdoors gig that required WORKBOOTS which is laughable....considering all of my jobs I had to get on my own Here she is given a freebie and doesn't want it
Look its great when a you actually have jobs you can turn down but take a city like Baltimore where the unemployment is 40%. These people literally don't have jobs to turn down so its not a matter of spoiled behavior but a literal lack of opportunity. Yes there is unhealthy behavior but we can't keep looking at the symptoms while ignoring the root cause. It's intellectually dishonest and fixes nothing, it just gives people a talking point to wave their finger at the "bad poor people" Show me a place where the crime rate is high and there's 5% unemployment then we can talk.
I take it back because this isn't a both sides kind of issue. The oppressed are never really the problem but the actions of the oppressors are. You can't demand civility when you refuse to treat someone civilly. It simply can't work.
Tragic! R.I.P Veteran cop shot dead after prisoner being driven to jail managed to slip out his handcuffs and fired gun before escaping A veteran New Orleans police officer has been shot and killed while transporting a suspect to the city jail. Officer Daryle Holloway, 46, was shot Saturday morning and pronounced dead at an area hospital about a half-hour later, Tyler Gamble, a spokesman for the New Orleans Police Department, said. The suspect, Travis Boys, 33, was able to get his hands out of handcuffs, grab a firearm and shoot Holloway while he was driving, Police Chiief Michael Harrison said. Boys came from the back seat into the front seat through a hole in the cage, Harrison said. A manhunt is now underway for Boys. Police said the 22-year veteran and father of three had been transporting Boys from the NOPD Fifth District Station to Orleans Parish Prison after the escaped prisoner had been arrested for aggravated battery and outstanding warrants.. After Boys shot Holloway, the cruiser crashed into a utility pole near a Shell gas station and the man escaped on foot. Emergency responders arrived at the scene after 8am, police said. Boys is described as a black male who is around 5'11' and has a tattoo on the left side of his neck. Police believe he might be in a black pick-up truck with license plate number B850532,*according to*WVUE.
When I heard the news that he was killed, from my dad (who worked with him years ago), my head went into disarray. He always committed himself to doing the right thing and uphold the law. He was a great man. When I was younger, along with my other siblings, my dad would take us to his work before taking us to school and Officer Holloway would keep us entertained. It was fun times seeing the inner workings in the district office there. I still cannot fucking believe it. I just can't. But, the bastard who killed him was apprehended yesterday as he tried to cross state lines. Still, that won't be enough...at least not for me.
Oh wow, MS...can't believe it...you knew him. How tragic. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful memory of him...from what I have read and heard about him he was beloved. Can't imagine how his little boys must be feeling...no daddy on father's day His dirtbag killer gets to keep breathing while this good man died. So unfair.
I've had it up to here with gratuitous violence. This is sickening. Condolences to the families. R.I.P.
